4 Crazy Historic Decks Made to Annoy You

Strange it may be, but depending on how an opponent's deck tells you to play, the level of satisfaction from a match can greatly vary. Even when up against some competitive toolbox build, if you think you somehow still have a chance to win, it never feels too bad to lose every single time.

But these decks are something else. If you can resist their janky onslaught, good. If not, you might have to seriously ponder about your entire afternoon’s time investment dealing with these opponents.

Hyper Cancer is Here

So, when do you think this match will end? How many digits more shall we add? What is even needed to win with this build? As you may have already guessed, this hardly is the first time such a deck existed. But, it always runs in such a wacky way that it technically breaks the intended limitations of MTG itself.

Maybe the real win condition is the enemies we make along the way.

Liquimetal Land Destruction

The idea is simple: you wish for a Liquimetal Coating, and Karn blasts any land that it crystallizes. Need to preserve loyalty counters? Well, just keeping priority targets crystallized alone is actually enough to perfectly seal them. And in case of unforeseen contingencies, just wish for vehicles instead. Karn will make sure each one of them goes berserk without any crew ever piloting them.

More bonuses for opponents using artifact lands!

Mono Blue Mill

The theme of milling always conjures the idea of a grind fest. Like, that’s the theme of the word itself, even reflected in the original artwork of Millstoneimage. But, turns out there are lots of ways to bypass that limitation, and the spiciest version that we have yet only takes Brucie and one speedy boi. Ah, the feeling when that mill animation goes on and on until nothing is left...

Door to Nothingness

A bit more predictable, and can succumb to Control builds. But, it still provides an unconditional win at a comfortably constant ramp rate, and at the expense of your opponent's immediate dismay. Even if there’s no dimensional portal to get sucked into right away, classic Wurmcoil Engineimage and Golos, Tireless Pilgrimimage can still do their fair share of work to create an alternate win condition as necessary.
