Top Standard Decks - November 2024

We are in the first of the last few months before Standard becomes forever get mixed in with UB tentpole sets. But before anything of that transpires, we shall take a look at how the two back-to-back sets have affected Standard so far. Have other new cards surfaced by that time. Was that first week Duskmourn release timeline already the most that we could have gotten? Let's check it out!

Standard Tournament Meta - Top 8 Decks

Welp, it seems like Orzhov simply got a lucky strike for that particular week last month. Red deck still managed to rise up the ranks eventually no matter what. In fact, the current stats stands at a whopping 21.51% of the meta for Gruul Aggro, and 17.53% for Mono Red. Dimir followed closely behind at 16.33% of the meta, but the rest just fell behind hard. Most importantly perhaps, Golgari fell out completely off the top 8 for the first time since Wilds of Eldraine.

On a similar trend with the events meta, Golgari also fell off completely in its usual ranks. This is after rotating around the first top four spots (occasionally climbing to the top, like last October) for an entire year. In its place... is Azorius! Not the control variant actually, but still a lot more familiar than you might initially think. Good ol' Esper Dimir comes at a close second, followed by the usual Red splashes... and a second Dimir out in the back, it seems. Not sure what to do with the 8th spot, since it is tied with Selesnya (not rabbits!), Mono White, and Golgari (2.68% of the meta). Oh well, I will just put the Selesnya there for good measure.

Strange, a Mono Red at the very end of the top 8? Sucks to have no leyline huh. But, no worries, Boros is still eating up the same space, and 'Rakdos' is fitting very snugly into fourth place. And yes, you are correct once again. That Azorius is not exactly the control variant, and nope, not the soldier type either. Also, equalizing our three mono red entries are three mono black entries! What a varied BO1 list this is.
