Gruul Obosh OTK
One of my earliest decks before rotation was Elfhame Druid
Fight with Fire
Expansion Explosion OTK that brings opponents from 20 to 0 real quick. The new Ikoria companion Obosh, the Preypiercer
added quite some fuel to that old fire, making the idea more viable by removing the need for waiting for combo pieces to assemble.
The concept of this deck is an aggro deck that utilizes ramp tools to catch opponents off guard. Up front we have the generic goodstuff cards - Lovestruck Beast
, Bonecrusher Giant
and of course the format staple, Llanowar Elf. On the other hand Domri, Anarch of Bolas
, Nissa, Who Shakes the World
and The Great Henge
are potent tools for ramping. But the true mission of the build is to run down the opponents with the explosive effect of Obosh, the Preypiercer, by doing the following:
+ Nessian Boa + = 20 dmg.
+ = 20 dmg.
(x = 10) + = 20 dmg.
The deck however does not solely rely on landing these haymakers, most of the time a Slaying Fire
for 8 or an attacking Lovestruck Beast with 10 power is good enough to push through.
