About FrankenHULK

I'm a Magic the Gathering: Arena player who's been playing since the closed Beta around March 2018, I believe.

I'd actually been exposed to MTG back in Fall 2011, and although I enjoyed the concept of the game, at the time I felt as though I recognized the steep learning curve needed to feel comfortable playing and I couldn't rise to the grind... that, and the game costs more than a pretty penny ;)

Over the years, I would play some of the digital versions of MTG on Xbox and would enjoy them but would constantly face the difficulty of that learning curve and, paired with my fickle interest in CCG's, I would often stop playing when the going got tough.

However, in 2017, I would discover Gwent (the CCG from CD Projekt Red, based on the minigame in the Witcher 3) and fall desperately in love with it. I would play it consistently until early 2018 when I believe the developers had sunken what was, up to that point, a thoroughly engaging, creative and thrilling game.

Off the back of my interest in Gwent, I discovered the development of MTG: Arena and, with incredible luck, scored a beta-key from a raffle on the CCG streamer Swim's channel.

I've been playing and, more often than not, enjoying Magic the Gathering ever since. Now, I can say I've finally developed an interest in paper Magic (I hope it's not too late, given the digital format of the Mythic Challenger events! Fingers crossed!).

A little bit about me: I'm a writer who primarily writes a blend of science-fiction and fantasy and allows his works to dabble in many other genres, such as mystery, horror, romance, thrillers, slice of life (sigh... anime, LOL), literary and any other modes of writing that pique my interest.

I'm ecstatic about the future of Magic and can't wait for how Arena turns out as the years progress.
