ESPER RULE OF LAW CONTROL
- With Rule of Law
and Teferi, Time Raveler, we can hard-lock our opponents into playing, at most, exactly one card per turn, and only on an opponent's main phase. Since we run counterspells, we don't allow our opponent to play anything. Ever. Because our opponent's are locked down, the downsides of Scheming Symmetry are negated. We don't care what our opponents are going to pick because we'll just counterspell it.
- We run Devious Cover-Up to return our Scheming Symmetry and counterspells to our deck and repeat the process until your opponent forfeits, runs out of cards, or dies from lethal creature damage.
- Additionally, we play a mana base that allows for Field of the Dead activation, while at the same time hitting all of the suggested thresholds Frank Karsten provides in his article, "How Many Colored Mana Sources Do You Need to Consistently Cast Your Spells? A Guilds of Ravnica Update", channelfireball.com, Frank Karsten (10/10/18).
