Learn more Download For WindowsThe main idea of this deck is to use Urabrask, Heretic Praetor to prevent your opponent from holding cards in hand and using targeted removal and damage spells to clear their board and eventually blast them in the face.
Naturally, the manabase is incredibly small, I tried to include as few lands as possible, as that allowed me to include more burn, but keeping it at 22 including Interplanar Beacon to take advantage of planeswalkers for healing and Lotus Field for hopefully some early game advantage helps to bring us into some bigger threats in the later game, especially Drakuseth, Maw of Flames Purphoros, Bronze-Blooded or even just hitting multiple bigger spells.
The inclusion of cards like Birgi, God of Storytelling allows for some momentum gain as you make plays, allowing you to chain bolts, or even throw larger enchantments down and still have the mana for something smaller. This coupled with cards like Torbran, Thane of Red Fell or Fiery Emancipation can make for some big budget damage.
One of the greater card advantage plays comes at the top of the curve in Etali, Primal Storm, as coupling the on attack effect with Urabrask's effect will give you access to twice the number of cards your opponent has, and you can cast those ones for free.
I'll be experimenting with this deck a little further, as I think that it could be improved by maybe swapping some of the bolts for more lands to try and increase consistency, but I'll update this entry if I do decide to make changes. If you have any suggestions for inclusion or simply removal, please leave a comment and let me know, I would greatly appreciate the feedback as an oppoirtunity to learn and grow.
