Learn more Download For WindowsThis is the Legendary deck, and it uses the Ring Tempting mechanic. It may be the least competitive, but it's the most LOTR-themed. Here's how it works.
Every creature in the deck (besides Delighted Halfling) is a Legend. So, we've got plenty of cards to make our "legends payoffs" worth it. Urza's Ruinous Blast is one of the biggest reasons to play all Legends and will win you many games on the spot, considering it is a one-sided, exiling board wipe.
Next is Delighted Halfling, which fixes your mana and makes all of your legendary spells unable to be countered. Not only does this mean you'll always resolve your key spells (such as The One Ring), but it also ramps you into them. Speaking of ramp and legends, we have four copies of Mox Amber, which means you can resolve a One Ring as early as turn two!
Then we have a few copies of Flowering of the White Tree. It makes all your creatures much bigger and better in combat and more challenging to remove, thanks to the Ward it provides.
The deck can take full advantage of the "channel" lands you see above, so we'll play one of each with no downside. In testing, I won a game thanks to Takenuma, Abandoned Mire bringing a Frodo Baggins back to my hand to get another Ring Tempting trigger.
Aside from these, you'll also find some other spicy lands like Shizo, Death's Storehouse.
The deck leans heavily into Ring Tempting, which you can read about here. As the ring tempts you, your creatures become more formidable in combat and will eventually be Lightning Bolt'n our opponents each time they attack. Next is the last bit of text on Frodo, Sauron's Bane - Once you've paid the extra mana into it and the ring has tempted you four times, a hit from him is lethal! I pulled this off in testing, too, and it's great.
Besides Call of the Ring and Frodo Baggins, we also have a few copies of Bombadil's Song and Slip On the Ring to hep get triggers and protect the ring bearer. And, of course, there are four copies of The One Ring.
