Okay first off, I know that Solemnity
shuts off some of our cards. Midnight Clock
, Elspeth Conquers Death
, Kiora Bests the Sea God
and The Magic Mirror
are pretty useless with it on the field.
HOWEVER
Watching our opponent struggle to come to terms with Mazemind Tome
being useless when it's in play has unquantifiable value. We can watch as people spam click it and Solemnity does its little animation every time while they get frustrated with the fact that adding the page counter is a cost that can't be paid.
With that said, most of this deck is designed to be frustrating and we shouldn't play it against people we want to remain friends with.
Mostly we aim to delay everything the opponent is doing until we can stick some of our nonsense on the board and make people concede because they don't want to deal with our shit anymore.

- These are all here just to slow the game down, frustrate the opponent and disable various strategies. Personally I never really play the creature side of Valkmira, the damage reduction and cost increase on target are just too good.
Shut down opponent's creatures with Valkmira, Protector's Shield + Overwhelming Splendor
Hinata, Dawn-Crowned
's ability means we can get a cost reduction on our counterspells, and we can cast Sublime Epiphany
for UU.
Mostly we win by delaying the game until we can win by slapping the shit out of them with Hinata, casting a big Banefire
, sticking Kiora Bests the Sea God or with overhwelming value from Sunbird's Invocation
. Curse of Shaken Faith
can get us closer to our target.
Disenchant
and Stone Rain
should be used to shut down mana advantage as soon as possible, we want people to lose hope.
We slap Icthymorphosis and Frogify
on commanders or creatures with dangerous persistent effects whenever possible.
