This deck is mostly about the flavor. A bunch of "clerics" who aren't very good clerics. We got Faithless Looting
/Faithless Salvaging
for the lack of faith, literal demon clerics (Taborax, Hope's Demise
and Dream Devourer
), a cleric that turns into a demon through corruption (Jerren, Corrupted Bishop // Ormendahl, the Corrupter
), all working with Demon Bolt
and a bunch of demons...
But hey bringing things back from the dead is sorta cleric-y right? Just ask Liliana! Totally a healing thing. Totally respecting deities and stuff. As evidence of this, Doomed Necromancer
is given the Cleric creature type. So there. Totally legit clerics in here.
Anyway, as far as gameplan goes, the goal is to get big demons and stuff into the grave and reanimate.
Archfiend's Vessel
can be a solid friend in case the reanimators get out before finding discard outlets or whatnot.
If things turn out well, you can reanimate yourself a Razaketh, the Foulblooded
, or Vilis, Broker of Blood
to help try to find Liliana's Contract
, and maybe win like our ultimate cleric/planeswalker friend (Liliana, Heretical Healer // Liliana, Defiant Necromancer
- see, she's a cleric) once did so iconically. Or just win because they're big demons. That's why there's only the one contract in there... It's kinda "win-more" if you have the means to win with it at all.
Otherwise just standard black deck things; play stuff, sacrifice stuff on occasion, lose life on purpose to draw or whatnot. Also embrace cleric synergy on Taborax, Hope's Demise and Skemfar Shadowsage
