Learn more Download For WindowsUpdate: This deck helped me get through diamond 1 to hit Mythic #701 initially in Nov 2020. I went 6-1. Guys this is a good cycling deck!
Edit: Whent 15 - 5 (2 losses on the buffer) on diamond 2 and diamond 1 to hit mythic in Oct 2020. The deck feels good to me vs the current meta.
Stats: 10-7 on early platinum Oct 2020.
The deck has cards that benefit from discard or drawing your second card each turn. With narset parter of the veils gone, I think the deck is much more viable (for now in best of one). Grave yard hate is a problem but not insurmountable. The rogue matchup is violent both ways: cycling helps them and you, and milling does the same for both decks. I had a few nice battles against omnath decks, both winning and losing. I'd guess that the rogue matchup is probably the hardest, but I'm not sure yet.
The deck did well in previous seasons for me, but the narset matchup was completely lost, so I abandoned the deck competitively. Irencrag can focus down boards or go for the opponent. A double cycle in the enemy turn can trigger several card's passive abilities. Rielle is great value for drawing an extra card when you cycle - but just think about playing her on turn 3 versus guaranteed value on turn 4. Boon of the wish giver is a fun late game draw when you need more cards to cycle with. Improbable alliance is a good late game mana sink, and makes a flying token every time you cycle once on your turn or twice (or once with rielle) on the opponents turn. I'm still learning how to play this against the current meta, kind of fun. The land situation is not bad, since the deck runs 8 pathways. 20 lands feels right so far.
