Swapped out Thaumatic Compass for Dawn of Hope. They do the same thing for what I need them for: Draw, Creature Block. Only thing I think I'll enjoy Dawn of Hope more is for the long control fights. The only reason I didn't use them before is the endless Nexus of Fate decks. Doesn't help much there. But against pretty much any other control deck works nicely.

This deck was near top tier in last rotation meta, with how the meta is now it's become much much stronger. With the onslaught of creature/rush decks you see much less Dimir Control decks which was the biggest weakness of this deck. This deck does great against creature decks. It's the main strength of it. The biggest thing that helps us against control is Electrodominance. This allows us to get our Immortal Sun out at Instant speed and punish them. It's strong. Try it out.

Today's last thoughts. Reason why I doubt I won't keep Ixalan's in is while they do give me answers I need answers for, they don't solve the problem of answers other decks already have against mine. I.E. Enchantment removal, Counters, Discard. All of those wreck Ixalan's and they're in all of the other midrange/control decks.

I'm hoping with the extra 1x dawn my chances against dimir improve even just slightly. Hoping with 1x fountain, 1x dawn, and 1x axis will give me a great edge against mono red, and the 1x star gives me even better odds than the around 55-60 to 45/40 chances I usually already had. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. Added in a maybe board to help me remember different ideas I've had in the past incase I want to try them again.

Also put in 1 more star of extinction for my late game match ups and another thing to deal with golgari's planeswalkers as I sometimes just couldn't keep them down. Want to improve those chances. Right now the deck seems to break even against most decks if not have some advantage. I beat most creature decks almost 100% of the time. Boros, Azorious, Izzet, Orzhov, Grixis, Jeskai, and Sultai decks usually lose.

I've tossed in 1 extra fountain, 1x dawn, and 1x axis. The axis has proved too valuable in the past in match ups that deal damage fast. Even just a 1x though I was happier in the past with 2x. I'm hoping the extra fountain and dawn will counter the fact of 1 less axis. I took out the 3x Coils as they weren't really helping that much more than the things I already had. I figure with enough board clear 4x settle and 2x cleric I should be fine against Arclight and Golgari.

Sooooo here's the scoop. I got two open spots atm in which I've tossed in Ixalan's bindings. TBH I doubt I'll keep them there. Running into two problems. Mono Red Aggro and Dimir Control. I doubt I can tech against Dimir Control so I've decided to tech against mono red and make my match up a little more favorable. Tried 25 lands some more and while I rarely have land deprivation anymore I now have equal amount of land flood now. 6 of one thing half a dozen of the other.

I feel like Azor's Gateway is a win more card. It doesn't seem to help catch up and while it does bait removal, if you're relying upon it, it doesn't seem to give you the ability to break even. I know it feels amazing when it does go off, but majority of the time I have it in play it gets removed around 2-3 cards underneath it. Think I might put another Dawn of Hope back into the deck. And either banefire/land/treasure map.
ArmyGuyClaude
Think I might try 1 less treasure map and put 1 more land in. Still think 25 lands would be best.

Deck weak points: Dimir Control. Bout the only decks I struggle against now. I don't lose all my matches, but they have the edge. I would love to be able to have a tech against them, but I don't know where I would put that tech and what I would take out. I'm pretty sure I'm ok with being weak against only one type of deck when Dimir Control struggles against the majority of creature decks out there right now.
