Extremely fun and uncommon deck!
I usually build a lot of decks just to have fun, and I also lose a lot of games for this reason, BUT with this deck I had an unexpected high winrate that made me want to upload it here! Every suggestion is welcome!
That's how I play it:
Mulligan: you need at least 2-3 lands and at least one of Llanowar Elves
, Gift of Paradise
, Grow from the Ashes
, Chromatic Lantern
or Circuitous Route
. This way you won't have mana problems and you will be fast enough to reach late game.
Against control: it's pretty easy to win this matchup if you know how to play against control, because you have all the time to setup your lands. Just be sure that the opponent has his lands tapped and then you can play your best cards. If the opponent has got some AoE removal, don't worry: you can play your cards again with Primevals' Glorious Rebirth
(that literally wins the game alone) or Muldrotha, the Gravetide
or Yawgmoth's Vile Offering
.
Those cards are awesome also with Underrealm Lich
, that not only gives you the (almost) perfect draw every turn, but it makes Mill matchup pretty easy, because you can't lose the game for drawing from an empty deck because technically you are not drawing!
Against aggro: this is the hardest matchup, but it's not impossible: we have some lifelink cards like Lyra Dawnbringer
, but also Gift of Paradise that gives mana fix and 3HP, that are not bad. You can also buy some time by playing Ritual of Soot
or Phyrexian Scriptures
. If you manage to survive the early game, you can easily win just by playing any "big card" of the deck. EDIT: Ritual of Soot in the opening hand won me so many games against aggro, that's why I added 2 more copies of it.
Another important card in this deck is Demonlord Belzenlok
: as you can see, most of the cards in this deck cost more than 4 mana, so this guy can make us draw a lot! That's why you want to play him when you have very few cards in your hand, but anyway don't worry: it happened to me quite a few times to have drawn 8-9 cards with him, but after discarding those 3 or 4 cards it was enough to play Primevals' Glorious Rebirth to win the game.

and why the Shanna in this kind of deck?
The deck is going very well, of course there are some tough matchup like mono red aggro or weenie white, where if you don't have Ritual of soot in the opening hand you are going to lose in few turns^^ I'm currently trying a version with 2-3 Lyra but i'm not 100% sure yet, at the moment I've just removed Circuitous route to add 1 more Grow from the ashes, because the ramp with llanowar elves + any 3 mana ramp card it's just too good :)
how is the deck doing? Seems interesting, to bad i dont have some mythics :(
