Pro Tour The Lord of the Rings - Top 8 Players & Deck Lists
Pro Tour The Lord of the Rings is well underway in Barcelona, and we're officially down to the Top 8. Some of the best players in the world have come together in Spain to slug it out with some of Modern's hardest-hitting decks. The Top 8 kicked off today at 4 a.m. ET, so be sure to tune in here. In the meantime, let's take a look at the Top 8 players and their decklists.
Pro Tour The Lord of the Rings Top 8 Players And Deck Lists
Below are the remaining players, which decks they're playing, and their particular list. So, without further ado, let's jump in.
Javier Dominguez
The Spanish Pro is at home in Barcelona and playing like it. He's playing a fairly stock Mono-Green Tron list, which post-LOTR: Tales of Middle-Earth means a full playset of the The One Ring. This is one of three Tron lists in the Top 8, so we'll note a few of the slight differences.

Christian Calcano
11-year pro player Christian "The Calculator" Calcano is also on Mono Green Tron. However, his list is slightly different from the one above. First, there are no copies of Urza's Saga in his build, so you see more copies of some of the one mana artifacts. Next, Christian has more Planeswalkers (one more Karn Liberated and an Ugin the Spirit Dragon) and is running Jegantha, the Wellspring as a companion.
I also noticed he's running more Boseiju, Who Endures and only three mainboard The One Ring, with the fourth copy in the sideboard.

Simon Nielsen
Danish pro Simon Nielsen is best known for winning the 2014 Magic Cup as part of the Danish team and his miracle top deck od Duneblast. In this event, he's one of the three top 8 players piloting Mono-Green Tron. His list is identical to Javier Dominguez's, and it seems he and Christian Calcano will play the mirror later today!

Jake is playing Rakdos Evoke. There are three copies of Blood Moon throughout the 75 and a few copies of Sheoldred, the Apocalypse and Orcish Bowmasters, which are very good against The One Ring. Overall, it seems like Jake is pretty well-positioned to handle some of the other decks in the finals.
Marco Del Pivo
Italy has a plethora of great MTG players, Del Pivo among them. For Pro Tour Lord of the Rings, he sleeved up Temur Rhinos, one of the tournament's better-performing decks, with three copies in the finals. He said he landed on the deck because it fit his playstyle. Apparently, it was a good choice.

Stefano Vinci
Stefano Vinci is one of two Italian pros in the Top 8 of PT LOTR, and like his fellow countryman, he's playing Temur Rhinos. That said, his list is slightly different. He isn't playing any Prismari Command and instead has an extra copy of Fury and a one-of Brazen Borrower.

Kai Budde
Kai Budde, aka "The German Juggernaut," is a hall-of-fame player with a long history of success. In fact, making the Top 8 here means he now has 12 top finishes. The MTG legend has also opted to play Temur Rhinos and has a fairly standard list... Except for the two copies of Questing Beast! I love that he's included these in the deck, and they could do a lot of work in the Tron matchup.

Dominic Harvey
Canadian Dominic Harvey got off to a rocky start but made the Top 8 nonetheless. Now he's looking to "tighten up and Titan up" and bring home the win for Canada. Considering how much Tron there is in the semi-finals, the event could certainly come down to Tron vs. Titan in a showdown of big mana. Let's take a look at his list, which has 61 cards.
