The Historic Artisan event is coming up on MTG Arena, and we have constructed and gathered some decks for you to play. Here is a quick refresher of what the Historic Artisan event is:

Historic artisan decks consist only of commons and uncommons from the Historic format. The following cards are banned:

Mono-colored Decklists
First out is a mono-green Stompy deck using a proliferate synergy! Using New Horizons
to ramp up the early game and Merfolk Branchwalker
to ensure we get mana to play game-enders like Grunn, the Lonely King
and Silverback Shaman
this deck has all you want from green. Not only that, but it also has an early game +1/+1 counter-strategy in combination with proliferate with Kronch Wrangler
, Evolution Sage
and Jiang Yanggu, Wildcrafter
, combined with synergistic removal and combat tricks Stony Strength
and Outmuscle
. A really solid deck worth checking out!

The next deck aims to drain the life out of the opponent with Ill-Gotten Inheritance
as its main win-condition. Being a mono-black deck it plays a lot on the main strengths of the color, using powerful removal spells and drawing cards by paying with life to buy enough time to drain the life of their opponent away.

At the other end of the spectrum, we have a mono-white flying weenie deck! An all-in aggressive deck that plays on the power of small evasion creatures to chip in for damage in the air. Trapped in the Tower
takes care of the pesky reach creatures you might encounter and you also have value tricks like tapping down creatures with Ardenvale Tactician
and then playing it as a creature next turn. Another really important combat trick is Rally of Wings
which can be used both on the defense and when attacking.

It is time for another mono-colored deck, and this time we are milling! Yes, Persistent Petitioners is banned in the event but that does not mean we have other options! Some players just can't resist Mill as a wincon so we just had to give it a chance with this deck. It is by no means going to be an easy victory going up against the other decks in this article but that just makes it so much sweeter when you finally pull off the mill win! Countering their spells is key here and Brineborn Cutthroat
is a great alternate win-con and can keep the opponent distracted and force them to use time on removing it letting you mill them further.

One more Color to cover and you probably guessed right, it is time for an all-in mono-red burn deck, historic gives us access to all those sweet red cards that have rotated out with from Standard, welcome back Fanatical Firebrand
, Ghitu Lavarunner
and Viashino Pyromancer
! We also have a cool new Historic card called Kiln Fiend
that can output some serious damage! Use Heartfire
to finish off the opponent or The Flame of Keld
when you are out of cards to draw those last cards needed to burn them down to a crisp. Remember, the face is the place!
