Top Standard Decks - October 2024

Top Standard Decks - October 2024

Well, that was some weird timing. We got two Standard-legal new MTG sets getting released back-to-back within two consecutive months. As such, if our September list was made to check the effect of Bloomburrow on the meta, this October, we immediately check the effects of Duskmourn. Were there any notable new additions? Well... not much, really. But the rollout consistency is quite good, as expected.

Oh, and as always, the older cards got pushed up the MTG Standard meta in terms of utility.

Standard Tournament Meta - Top 8 Decks

Orzhov wasn't exactly a staple of tournament top 8's, but it did appear on the list from time to time. Today, however, marks the time that it has once again jumped instantly to the top spot, at 14.08% of the meta. The trending aggro to took a lot of Bloomburrow cards to the fraw, in Gruul was pushed to the next spot, along with the other similar ranking colors last month. As a result, the entries on the lower ring got pushed out completely.

Standard MTG Arena: Best of Three - Top 8 Decks

Orzhov seems to have managed to stabilize here as well. Though, to be fair, regular ol' Standard Bo3 had Orzhov lifegain decks already popping in and out of the list for the last year or so. The rest of the entries are a tangled mess of jumbled places, leaving Golgari as the sole color combination that maintained its spot for this particular month of the year (currently 9.02% of the meta).

Standard MTG Arena: Best of One - Top 8 Decks

Well, such lovable flavors of red here. The obligatory double mono reds are at the top, as usual, while the "real" Rakdos sit somewhere near the very edge. Unlike last month, which is absolutely devoid of blue, we see Azorius hanging on to 8th place at the very least. Mono black is now represented by just one entry, while Orzhov is nowhere to be seen here (as opposed to sitting at a stable middle place last month).
