Top Standard Decks - March 2025

The stabilization of Esper continues as we go on the second month of its general return to Standard and all of its sub formats. As expected, some of the top pre-rotation decks that temporarily returned at the end of 2024 are now on their ropes once again, falling slightly off the top 8 (despite bigger popularity). The rest that remained generally switched identities entirely, despite a lot of the swapped cards used by these decks being still legal in the format. If the deck wasn't able to adopt immediately post-Duskmourn, don't expect them to stay consistently on the list in the first quarter of the following year.
What about Aetherdrift, you ask? Well, the featured artwork of this post says it all. But seriously, the usual expected number did make it to the top spots. Nothing too impressive in terms of numbers, though in terms of effects, many of these transcended the format to become highly sought after in extended formats.
Standard Tournament Meta - Top 8 Decks
After fighting off the board wipe meta for the last few months, Azorius Aggro finally drops any of the upper spots of the events list entirely. In its place, is good ol' Azorius Control, which somehow lost its place a few months ago despite being a technical mainstay at any other time. Esper, as mentioned, continued its stable welcome on the top list, along with everyone that already had a spot since the year's opening. Oh and, by the way, Abuelo's Awakening + Omniscience
decks managed to sneak up the list once again at the very end.

Well well well... what do we have here. Only the Gruul variant of Red aggro decks seems to have survived the March 2025 Bo3 list. No Jeskai around, Boros has kicked the bucket, and not even a Mono Red Wins variant can be seen. Dimir then continues its popularity drift, along with Golgari's recovery. Both even have duplicate entries on the list, which is technically more of a Bo1 trend over the last five months or so.

Orzhov keeps its 5th place for the third month in a row! Well technically all top five of them kept the same spots as last month, but it's the streak that counts! Instead of a second Mono Black entry, we get a second Mono Red. And the switcheroo continues ever more with Dimir and Azorius, leaving the previously 7th place Mono White dangling outside at 9th.
