Banlist updated for cards depicting racism

As a response to the recent article from Wizards of The Coast: Depictions of Racism in Magic

We have done changes to the banlist, changed the multiverse Id of Invoke Prejudiceimage, and also removed all the card art of the cards mentioned in the above article.

The following cards are now banned from constructed formats:

Card art has been wiped from our servers, if you still see them in your browser it is because they have been cached. Force refresh or ctrl+F5 should fix this issue.

Quote from Wizards article:

"Today, we will be changing the multiverse ID and removing the Gatherer card image for the card Invoke Prejudice, originally printed in 1994. The card is racist and made even worse by the multiverse ID it was unfortunately codified with years ago. There's no place for racism in our game, nor anywhere else.

But to that point, it should never have been published nor placed in the Gatherer. And for that we are sorry. The events of the past weeks and the ongoing conversation about how we can better support people of color have caused us to examine ourselves, our actions, and our inactions. We appreciate everyone helping us to recognize when we fall short. We should have been better, we can be better, and we will be better.

There's much more work to be done as we continue to make our games, communities, and company more inclusive. Know that we work every day to be better and that we hear you. We look forward to sharing more of our plans with you as our games and organization evolve."

BeckysFootSlave, the only reason you don't get it must be that you are a racist! It is really obvious! Maybe you have to report another card to WotC to get rid of this suspicion.

Seriously? You can overdo it with political correctness. You guys really took the cake.

Maybe because I'm German, but I DON'T get it in case of:

Stone-Throwing Devils
Pradesh Gypsies
Imprison
Crusade

Invoke Prejudice (never saw this card before, just because of this Article), but this Card is DEFINETLY a NOGO!!!

This is pandering to the fullest extent. There is zero need to apologize for something that has nothing to do with any of this but they felt the need to try and appeal to someone. Why are we bringing up cards, that would otherwise be lost in the void, in order to make people feel happy? None of these people could care less but this is a means to make the game more inclusive? You are not going to gain any support. It's a worthless attempt to grandstand.

Part 1: If by political correctness, you are referring to, "the avoidance, often considered as taken to extremes, of forms of expression or action that are perceived to exclude, marginalize, or insult groups of people who are socially disadvantaged or discriminated against," then I'm all for that.

Yay, political correctness yet again intrudes on our game. None of the cards specifically reference a race etc.

Grate, probably should of done those years ago. But now how about they support lgbtq and give us a back Chandra as bi/lesbian?
