4 Eldrazi Decks to Shake Up Historic and Explorer
Eldrazi decks were impossible to build in MTG Arena, not because of the meta, but because there was just one functional Eldrazi card playable. Thanks to the recent Explorer Anthology 2 updated, this has changed. We now have a few more cards to play that would finally justify naming the deck for their archetype in Explorer and Historic formats.
Are they still the pain and pay-off style decks that we remember them as? With still many pieces missing, not as much. But the right brew can still be quite competitive, although piloting these decks might require some… additional Foresight.
Eldrazi Tron (Historic)
The classic name of what it should ideally be, courtesy of Jim Davis. Of course, Urza's Construction Drone is not really as efficient, even when brought to play for free by Matter Reshaper. But, at least it still works, and the “Tron” name can officially stick. The deck also splashes the expected Wurmcoil Engine, and Ugin, the Spirit Dragon, with the pay-off being Forsaken Monument as its Mirari's Wake.
Flooding becomes a considerable risk with this much land conjuring and seeking, however.

Kozilek, the Titan (Historic)
Kly Pheonix hits more on the classic Eldrazi/Tron endgame strategy by focusing solely on the big hitters, Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger and Kozilek, the Great Distortion. Instead of directly ramping, the deck opts more of a semi-control defensive strategy. It halts the progression of the opponent with cards like The Birth of Meletis and Farewell, building up to the same objective of setting up Forsaken Monument.

Eldrazi and Taxes (Explorer)
Still lots of limitations from its Modern counterpart, but yet another classic deck returns! LegendVD takes a literal spin on that one small, tricky Eldrazi included in Anthology Explorer 2: the ETB fiend, Eldrazi Displacer. Pick your poison of either Skyclave Apparition (for which you can erase the compensatory token as well), or any of the other flicker targets for continued board gains. The deck pushes its repeatable resource advantage further by playing mind games with the opponent’s hand, which also works as an alternate diversion strategy if the Eldrazi pieces aren’t drawn quickly enough.

Mono Green Devotion… with Eldrazi! (Explorer)
Basically a Mono Green Devotion deck that is splashed with Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger and World Breaker. The synergy is not really direct, with no thematic relevance at all. But since the deck pays off with very big plays, you are always incentivized to drop the Eldrazi pieces whenever you have the chance. Plus, this brew wouldn’t really have been possible without the other cards introduced in Explorer Anthology 2.
