Learn more Download For WindowsZur is obviously the big baddy in this deck. But he is not the only wincon in this deck.
You're probably looking at this deck and thinking...3 creatures? Why so Many enchantments?! Well to control the opponent, build some creature token spam, and to just throw the opponent off their block. Because no one runs enough enchantment removal to control 24(30) enchantments.
You're also probably wondering where VEzuvan duplimancy fits in to the deck. Well, those 6 creatures that turn in to enchantments can allow you to copy any token, or Zur, and give them flying or Double strike, It also triggers hallowed haunting. Which is what is up next.
Since this is an enchantment deck, they work as creatures, with deathtouch and lifelink by way of Zur, but like I said, he is not the only wincon. 7 enchantments = Everything has flying and vigilance...and by the time you have 7 enchantments, you have a lot of spirits usually. Then throwing the enchantments on the battlefield with Zur, Strikes fear in to the opponent because they have deathtouch, lifelink, and if you're lucky, flying and vigilance.
The deck does require some thought, you can't just throw out Zur early game, he will usually get popped. Also, not playing creatures, and spamming the control with the exile enchantments, will frustrate the opponent, then coming in with a meathook from time to time definitely keeps the crowd under control.
It has been a very successful deck for me so far. People have a hard time balancing. what to get rid of, when the next turn I can create 5-6 spirits that get stronger with each one in the late game. I've been board wiped, and the next turn created 5 spirits. It really puts pressure on the opponent late game.
And of course Cruelty of Gix....is Cruel.
