Learn more Download For WindowsThis is something I've actually been playing around with for a while, but mainly in EDH. Tazri offers so much value once you manage to play him, the main problem is finding the lands to play use his activated ability. The deck wants to utilise the party mechanic and once on the board there are plenty of ways to establishing such a strong board state, the obviously strong counter to the deck is board wipes, luckily in standard there are a lot less than in historic, so being punished is less common. Even if you do, you can just re-populate the board with his active and the Felidar Retreat. The main function of the retreat is to put counters on everything, which works well with the Envoy.
I will admit having both the Basri's in the deck could over a lor more power, the Planeswalker can add the proliferation effect and be game ending, the Lieutenant would offer insurance against board clears and is overall a solid inclusion. But similar to my other Brawl Brews I'm too greedy. They could take the place of the Liliana, but her Ultiimate gives so much value and power that I substitued that for the Basri Ket. To be honest, the weakest card is the Hakdos if anything can be substitued it's that, but being hard to deal with and the basic power level was something I greeded for, but it is hard to cast. Finding the right mana will always be the hardest part of playing this deck, I toyed with the idea of adding some mana fixing, but historic has the best fixes.
When it doubt, Jank it out.
