Description

General info

When playing this deck, keep in mind that MTG Arena autotapper wants foretell players to lose.
It will quite reliably tap the wrong lands when paying foretell costs, which can cost you a lot of tempo.
This means you'll often have to manually tap your lands, providing your opponent valuable information.

Don't counter setups, counter payoffs. This deck only has 4 counterspells available so use them sparingly.
For example, don't counter Cultivateimage but counter Ugin, the Spirit Dragonimage later on.

I've been playing this deck for a while now, so I probably wont edit this one as much.
I might replace Behold the Multiverseimage with something else at some point.

This deck does really well in Arena's meta shakeup events, even in historic format.

Deck strategy

Mill your opponents by drawing a lot of cards off of Song of Creationimage, triggering Teferi's Tutelageimage.

You should mulligan for Song, it will usually allow you to find your Tutelage.
If your opening hand has no Song but does have really nice control spells you could keep it, though it's still risky.

Apart from the central combo and reliance on foretold spells, it's just your run of the mill (no pun intended) red/blue control deck.

Play guide

Casting Song of Creationimage

Use turns before casting your Song to set up.
This means:

- Foretell spells
Foretell the spells best suited against your opponent's playstyle (Crush the Weakimage against aggro for example).
Having cards foretold ensures that topdecking a bunch of lands won't lose you the game.

- Clean up the boardstate
You sould be quite permissive toward your opponent. It's ok to let them have some creatures.
Remove or counter important spells or permanents that have value on their own.
Generally don't allow your opponent anything that will kill you in the next 2-3 turns.

- Possibly cast Tutelage, maybe?
Discard it for all I care. You'll find one eventually, no worries.
Obviously cast it if there's room to do so.

If your'e at 4 mana but your opponent seems to have a strong turn coming up, it's probably best to postpone casting Song and deal with your opponent's play first.

When playing against white or green you should ideally have Depart the Realmimage or Saw It Comingimage open to protect your Song against enchantment removal.

When playing against blue control you should probably have Saw it Coming open, though Song getting countered isn't as bad as it being removed. Also, if you have 2 songs you might want to play the first one into a counterspell.

With Song on board

Once Song is on board you should prioritize casting spells that affect boardstate. Card draw spells are often useless at this point.

Be carefull when casting at sorcery speed, you might draw your Tutelage without 3 mana open and discard it to song.
Instead, you should foretell spells to cast in your opponent's turn. In their end step you don't have to discard, allowing you to cast Tutelage after your next untap step.

Allow your opponents some fun, they're allowed to resolve stuff and attack a bit.
Keep Saw it Coming and/or Depart the Realm open to deal with anything that will disrupt your combo or kill you in the current or next turn.

Sleep of the Deadimage is a nice recurring way to mess with your opponent's creatures. Paying the escape cost should be easy.

Play scrylands when possible, they smoothe out your topdecks by scrying away lands.
Obviously don't play a slow land when you need the mana.

You'll be scrying a lot of cards to the bottom of your library that you might want to draw later, so the shuffle effect of fetch lands such as Fabled Passageimage is really important. Fabled Passage will also improve your topdecks by removing lands from your library.

When you have the combo on board you should easily be able to mill your opponent for 15+ cards a turn.
Once you have around 10 lands on board you should often times be able to mill your opponent for 40+ cards a turn, they'll never see it coming.

About Thijs

All my decks are made from scratch by me.

Usually I upload decks shortly after making them, so I tend to edit them after uploading.

Most of the time I play in platinum on Arena, using mostly decks I uploaded here.

Decks I post are limited by the amount of wildcards I have. The reason being that I'm not comfortable posting decks I haven't played.

I dislike playing meta decks, especially ones with little interactivity.

Occasionally I do play meta decks for grinding, but won't post them here as I'm sure there are plenty of decklists available for those.

Any suggestions or criticism about my decks are appreciated.
