I have always been a fan of Hushbringer
. A nice thorn in the side to the cat oven decks and a lovely combo piece to Kroxa, Titan of Death's Hunger
and Clackbridge Troll
. I wanted to put something together that felt smooth and had some fun twists and turns. More on the aggro side of things, this deck has some fun interactions and has won me a surprising amount of games while playtesting. Some fine tuning is still happening, but thought I'd share what I have.
Interactions:
1) Hushbringer + Kroxa, Titan of Death's Hunger and Clackbridge Troll: This will allow you to have a turn 3 6/6 Kroxa that sticks around as well as avoiding the gift of goats with the troll.
2) Snapdax, Apex of the Hunt
mutate onto Hushbringer = Double strike lifelink
3) Snapdax, Apex of the Hunt mutate onto Dreadhorde Butcher
= Gain 2 counters and does more damage when killed due to the pumped stats from mutate
4) Necropanther
+ Lurrus of the Dream Den: Bring back the fun pieces and play with them again. I went for more necropanthers to allow an extra trigger with Snapdax. Also, resists sweepers a bit better than lurrus.
5) Knight of the Ebon Legion
: Nice aggro card and mana sink in the late game. Can be brought back with both the lurrus and the Necropanther. Also, a decent mutate target. I've won a couple games by Mutating a Snapdax onto him and then pumping for a very beefy double striker.
6) Soul-Guide Lantern
: It just hits so many decks and is, at worst, a cantrip.
***Note: Hushbringer has anti-Synergy with Dreadhorde Butcher. Dreadhorde's ability won't trigger on death, so if you don't have a combo piece and have both hushbringer and dreadhorde in your opening hand, best to be aggro with dreadhorde and hold onto husbhringer.
Also playtesting broodmoth, but having 2 cards that dont work with hushbringer isnt consistent enough.
