Learn more Download For WindowsLooks like Rakdos Knights are a bit popular to run. This is what I've learned getting to Gold with them.
These two are your early beaters. Multiple Fervent Champions can really speed up your early game damage, while Knight of the Ebon Legion has a sneaky ability to smash for 4 damage. I still get people that block without thinking about Ebons ability. These are rarely a target for Embercleave.
These are your kill spells esentially. Muderous Rider kills anything, even pesky planewalkers for 2 life. Blacklance Paragon flashes for a deathtouch kill if you want 3 health on top, or you can set her for Fervent Champion to firststrike deathtouch something but only gain 1 life.
These are your draw engines that keep you moving and not top decking as bad. Stormfist may draw for your opponent, but it puts the game on a clock while also helping you get to an Embercleave win condition. Another benefit is she triggers spectacle on your upkeep for you. Castle is good, but more is not better in this case, youll probably never want more than 1 on the field. An honourable mention in here for triggering spectacle would be Spawn of Mayhem.
The only spell aside from Embercleave that we run. Disrupting the opponents hand is absolutely necessary in this deck. Getting them to pitch a Realm-Cloaked Giant is worth it here.
The game finishers. Rotting is the true finisher here. Oathsworn has had some good plays for me as well, dodging deathtouch creatures, group blocks, and Lava Coil to keep swinging with Embercleave.
All in all the deck is fun to play. You'll get outpaced by mono red if they get a good hand, and you'll have a hard time recovering if your dudes get wiped and you have no extra draw on the board.
Love ya guys.
