This is my latest deckversion of an Orzhov Control Yorion Companion deck which brought me to mythic. First I only played it in BO1 but after reaching mythic yesterday I also playtested it in BO3 and recorded my games so people can see how the deck operates. I am not surprised that BO3 suits a control deck much better than BO1 where you sometimes just get steamrolled vs aggro or where you lack the right techcards vs greedy control/ramp decks but I was not expecting to climb from 99% mythic to #260 after winning 5 BO3 in a row. From now on I will focus on BO3 when it comes to refining this deck even tho I still had decent success in BO1 without a sideboard but the rise of aggro knight decks just hits one of the biggest weakness of my deck which is the greedy/slow early game.
I am not a good player and my deck is not by any mean perfect or meta-breaking.. I also know that my opponents made missplays and played sometimes strange decks but i still think it is worth to discuss an Orzhov themed Yorion deck which might have potential to be even better if better theorycrafter/deckbuilders look into it.
I call my deck "Yorion's Blessing" since exiling Treacherous Blessing
via Yorion, Sky Nomad
keeps giving us more and more cards since you are not targeting the enchantment which normaly would result in sacrificing it and you can keep casting spells while Treacherous Blessing is exiled to avoid the life loss which is one of the main downsides of Treacherous Blessing.
