The deck revolves around:
- ramping with red instant/sorcery spell, and getting additional values from swinging velomachus
- go hard on board clear with 3 farewell, 2 shadow verdict, 2 crippling fear, and 1 malicious malfunction (most questionable one). other than farewell all of the boardclear are castable from swinging velomachus
- finish the game with either velomachus or moraug(make sure you hold 1 land in late game). or thwart the grave in bringing back two creature
- thwart the grave can bring back some good combinations with moraug/hofri and velomachus/gold dragon
- playing smart with your lorehold command (can kill two small attacking creature/draw two cards/heal some life/save your minions from boardclear)
