Description

Hello and welcome to Lorehold. Currently, we're studying the history of the Thran. Join us in condemning things to the underworld, and then rescuing them!

According to my sources, Escape abilities trigger "when one or more cards leave your graveyard" twice each time you cast them; so, we've got Underworld Breachimage for mega value on a bunch of cheap cards that otherwise don't feel unfairly effective.

Also, Fall of the Thranimage has two steps that trigger these effects, which is kinda hilarious, because that's completely not what the card is supposed to be for... but also the only reason I made this deck.

There's also a lot of Discard effects (including Illuminate Historyimage, or if needed, just Learn effects themselves) to help fill up the graveyard.

Some fun quirks of this deck:

Shepherd of the Flockimage can be cast as an adventure from your graveyard if you have Underworld Breach out. You can use this to ignore the requirement that you sacrifice it (I've tested, and adventure casts do cost their (lower, in this case) adventure cost, despite their "main part" costing a different amount).

Cascading Cataractsimage avoids the downside of Fall of the Thran. Also, if you manage to get 3-4 Cataracts out, your discard effects probably put more lands in the grave so you likely don't have to worry about your opponent gaining more lands from the third part of the saga.

You can Usher to Safetyimage your excess lands, in preparation for Fall of the Thran, in case you don't have any other lands in hand; or better yet, return the saga to your hand immediately so that you keep the status quo and nobody gets lands back.

Retriever Phoeniximage only requires that you cast it for its ETB effect, not that you cast it from your hand, so you can Escape it for two phoenixes (and thus 3 "leave your graveyard" triggers). You can also use Usher to Safetyimage on them for more Learn triggers.

Faithless Lootingimage helps the "leave your graveyard" theme in all sorts of ways.
