What is great with this commander is that even if he does not draw like his alter (Kiora and Uro), his ability allows to pose big threats again and again in late game. Let's talk about the combos now! The fact that Kinnan's ability can be ephemeral will offer us a very interesting possibility, because the idea will be to ALWAYS activate the ability in response to an adverse spell. Because the deck will have 5 non-human creatures with interacting ETB effects:
- Frilled Mystic
- Voracious Greatshark
- Kogla
- Thorn Mammoth
- Meteor Golem
These 5 cards have an almost 40% chance of coming out on each activation, and are such strong bonuses that it is difficult to come back against them. The funny thing is that even if one of these cards is already on the battlefield, you are likely to hit Spark Double to copy the ETB. For the rest, what are the absurd combos in the deck?
- Green final + forrunner (instant win)
- Ancien Nyxbloom + Kinnan (make you play all your deck for instant win too)
- Saruli caretaker + Kinnan (which gives 2 extra mana turn 2 AFTER playing Kinnan, for another Dork, and thus have 7 mana turn 3)
- Arcane signet+ Kinnan (costs 2 mana and immediately gives you 2 mana, so it's completely free)
- Green leyline + all dorks (which gives you 3 to 4 mana each with Kinnan)
- Spark double + Kinnan (which makes all your accelerators produce 3 mana)
- Blue Final + Nyxbloom or Nissa (makes you draw 10 cards, untap your lands to allow you to immediately play huge cards, since your lands will make 2 or 3 mana each)
- Kogla + Kinnan (make Kogla indestructible or protect Kinnan)
- Kogla + Treachery agent (allow you to play treachery agent every turn and make Kogla indestructible too)
- Spark double + incubation Druid (put a +1/+1 counter on the copy, to have it produce at least 3 mana, or more with Kinnan, Leyline, Nyxbloom, etc)
