Learn more Download For WindowsI started playing magic with Golgari recursion shenanigans, so this deck is my absolute favorite. It's all about casting early value creatures like Fblthp, Dusk Legion Zealot, and Glowspore Shaman to stall until you have a healthy graveyard late game. Tomebound Lich and Ravenous Chupacabra are really good at slowing the game down and making sure you have control of the board. Tomebound Lich fits perfectly in this deck because it can provide continuous value if it sticks on the board, and its deathtouch and lifelink are always relevant. Also, it provides another instance of "draw a card" to trigger Underrealm Lich which is easily my favorite and most powerful card in the deck. Underrealm Lich is super clutch in finding Assassin's Trophy or Negate, and it turbo-fills your graveyard so that Izoni, Thousand-Eyed becomes a bomb. Cavalier of Night is another one of my favorite cards, and it combos really well with Blood for Bones. Blood for Bones can sacrifice the cavalier which triggers returning Fblthp, and then once it resolves, you can use Fblthp as a sacrifice target to use the cavalier's ETB ability again. Then you get another creature returned from your graveyard, so you net 2 cards and destroy a creature with 1 spell. I sprinkled in some of my favorite spices with Tamiyo, Collector of Tales and Mnemonic Betrayal because Tamiyo is bae and the animation for Mnemonic Betrayal is epic.
Real talk, there is so much card advantage built in that you're never empty-handed, and the pay-offs are awesome. Most of the time, one Cavalier of Night can win you the game, but when you start cycling them with Blood for Bones or just hard-casting the 3rd copy that you found with Underrealm Lich, you just can't lose.
Cards that make me auto-concede because fuck you: Settle the Wreckage >:(
