Description

The main observation this deck makes is that Hexproof is REALLY hard to deal with in Historic Pauper.  There are very few sweepers or forced sacrifices, meaning hexproof creatures basically only die in combat. The other observation that this deck makes is that Ancestral Maskimage is too good to be a common.

This deck, thus, looks to make low-cost hexproof creatures and buff them until they're out of control.  Since this is basically an Auras deck, we also control our opponent's board primarily with blue auras.

Once we have a large hexproof creature, we need a way to get in, so we are using flying and trample auras.  We favour flying to thwart flyers decks, as flying can sometimes be a powerful Pauper mechanic.  We still keep a bit of trample, though, for when flying doesn't cut it.

Since Deep Freezeimage turns off all abilities (including flying) and makes the creature a wall, it's your best control spell, use it sparingly.  The 3 mana cost is high, compared to something like Kasmina's Transmutationimage, but an attacking 1/1 can still hurt when buffed, which is why we are willing to pay the extra 1 mana to impose defender.

Callous Dismissalimage is a great stall/tempo card, which is why it's in the deck even though it's off theme.

Your game plan here is to become the beatdown with a beefcake, so don't blow your load too early by locking down everything your opponent plays.  Leave all of thier slow threats alone; you can out-class them and out-race 95% of the time.
