Learn more Download For WindowsThis is a list i 've been messing with for the past few days in BO1. It got me a very decent winrate, should be around 60-70% but i didn't track it with any software so i can't say for sure. The only thing that rotates out is Gruul Spellbreaker but can be easily swapped out for: Stonecoil Serpent(s) / one more fight effect / Radha(s) / 4th Robber of the Rich. I just had the card and added it, but the idea is you shouldn't spend Wildcards on cards that will rotate soon.
I have played a lot of heavier Gruul and i liked the adventure package version of it. All the adventure cards you typically play in a Gruul deck are aggressive cards with Rimrock Knight and Bonecrusher Giant showing up in Mono Red lists so i figured the RDW aggro package from Eldraine (Fervent Champion + Robber of the Rich) could naturally fit in a faster Gruul list. This deck can easily close out games on turn 4 while still maintaining the ability to go for longer games without drying out as easy as mono red does some times. There is also good synergy between Fervent Champion's first strike keyword and Bonecrusher Giant / Rimrock Knight adventure sides as combat tricks for early trades.
I will convert it to a BO3 soon and i want to try experimenting on a (kind of transformative) sideboard plan where you go a little bit slower (-4 Fervents -whatever_depending_on_matchup +1 Forest, then +Skarrgan Hellkite or Terror of the Peaks /+Shifting Ceratops /+Stonecoil Serpent /+fight spells etc depending on matchup) so you can get a little more steady power for game 2, especially if you go 2nd. Then switch to faster again at game 3 to go under.
