Learn more Download For WindowsThis deck might be trash, but it got a fresh F2P player from bronze to gold in 44 games. Most cards come from the mono red starter and the gruul reward deck. A few ICR's and maybe a pack or two was all I bothered to open before diving in.
Early aggression is ideal, with direct damage spells meant to remove blockers, trigger Chandra's Spitfire & Spellgorger Weird, or that last chip of damage for lethal.
Drakuseth and Street Riot only won me 1 game each, and were dead draws otherwise. Leyline Combustion adjusted how opponent played rather than dealing enough chip damage to be notworthy.
Cull expensive cards to fit in more Scorch Spitter, Dreadlord Arcanist, Ember Hauler, & Chandra's Pyrohelix.
Dreadlord Arcanist is basically cheating with a couple Shock and Chandra's Pyrohelix in hand and Chandra's Pyrohelix or 2 on the board.
Chandra's Spitfire, in addition to spells, is easily triggered with Scorch Spitter, Ember Hauler, and even a kamikaze Dreadlord Arcanist attack. The Ember Hauler get's one more damage sacrificing itself instead of attacking first with Chandra's Spitfire.
Keep the two coppies of Inescapable Blaze, as it can be a great finisher by itself or paired with Chandra's Spitfire that an opponent opted not to block or remove. Chandra's Outrage fills a similar position, removing an opponents sole flying blocker and procing the Spitfire.
Your opponents don't know you're not a meta level mono-red deck, and often concede early giving you a free win. Also, if an opponent isn't pressuring you enough, stay in the game. I've won games where I've had 5 dead draws with nothing I've played in a row and still managed to pull off lethal. Be brutal in taking advantage of any mistake your opponent makes, including making them think your hand is just land instead of that last Inescapable Blaze.
