Let me start by saying Happy Father's day! I hope all of you have an amazing day with your family and kids. Please be sure to click Subscribe and Click the Bell to be notified when I make new decks! Now on to the deck. I wanted to make a deck that brings me back to the feeling I had when I first played Magic the Gathering paper back in Revised. Yes I am old. When I first started I played monored burn but it looked a lot different back then.
This is the closest to that original deck that I can get in the current standard. It is fast and can kill before you get to Obosh or Torbran. However if the games go long the damage just starts multiplying as you play. With Obosh on the filed most of our burn does double damage. The exception to this is Bone Crusher giant's adventure. However he himself does 8 damage when he swings with Obosh on the field. We also have Torbran making our burn spells do an additional two damage as well as every creature in the deck. The effect of the +2 damage does stack with Obosh as well. You will do double damage on odd spells from Obosh and an additional 2 damage from Torbran.
You have plenty of burn in this deck so don't be afraid to use it to remove some creatures out of the way of your smaller threats. Get in the damage with your scorching spitfires and fervent knights. This allows you to close the game out with burn a lot faster. I've added four Castle Embereths as a pump for our little dudes to give a little more damage in here and there.
In my stream I was able to close out most games at 20 life. In two hours I lost 4 games in Mythic. I was impressed with the decks ability to face most of the meta and come out on top. My losses came to drawing too much land which is why we run 22 or decks with a lot of board wipes.
