The deck is build around Enigmatic Incarnation
and Niv-Mizzet Reborn
Obviously the deck can be weak against aggro, but if you survive until turn 4 and ideally get Fires of Invention
out quickly, snowballing begins and the lifegain from Gilded Goose
, Elite Guardmage
or Tolsimir, Friend to Wolves
can bring you back pretty easily. These cards help you to ramp, draw or remove creatures as well.
If you even have Thassa, Deep-Dwelling
and Yarok, the Desecrated
on the board the combos get infinte. Also Deathtouch in combination with Domri's Ambush
can bring down big or stacked creatures.
Massacre Girl
wipes the board against a lot of small creatures and can destroy Indestructibles, Trostani Discordant
helps against Agent of Treachery
and if you need anything else, get it with Fae of Wishes
from your sideboard.
If you have trouble to find Fires of Invention, you could add one to the sideboard and swap it with Nissa, Who Shakes the World
for example.
Of course the deck can't really compete with the meta decks, but at least you give them usually a very hard time to beat you. And if all your combos 'go off', it's a hell of a lot of fun to play!!
