Now, onto the deck...
Turn one: This deck doesn't worry about playing anything on turn one, and we main board too much control to care about what our opponent does on turn one.
Turn two: On turn two we have several plays to make up for our lack of turn one plays. In the order they should be played is; birth of meletis, spare supplies, mazemind tome, and agonizing remorse. Agonizing remorse should be prioritized after birth of meletis if we are in an aggro matchup. When using agonizing remorse we want to ruin our opponents curve; what I mean by this is, try taking the card they wish to play on curve the next turn. Birth of meletis is prioritized at all times for te ramp/draw that it provides, the value of playing birth on turn two cannot be understanded. Mazemind tome and spare supplies provide us with not only superior card advantage, but plenty of fodder for doom Foretold.
Turn three: On turn three we have Elspeth's nightmare as a four of (I can't begin to describe how happy I am that this card is finally playable), elspeth's nightmare does quadrupole duty for this deck; a. It removes pesky creatures, b. It clears out embercleave, great henge, and counter spells, and c. It exiles our opponents graveyard, or D. It can be used as fodder for doom Foretold in a matchup that our opponent does not use the graveyard. We also run three copies of treacherous blessing, which I've found to be the perfect number, as four tends to be more than needed. Simply put there is no better draw engine in standard and it's our top sacrifice target for doom Foretold.
Turn four: On turn four we have four different plays of which, we have to read the board to understand which is best to play. If our opponent has gained overwhelming board advantage in the first few turns, shatter the sky may be the best choice, especially if our opponent controls no creatures with power of four or greater. If our opponent gained overwhelming board advantage in the first few turns, and has all even or all odd converted mana cost creatures, or the ability to bring stuff back from the graveyard maybe extinction even is the best idea. If our opponent has had a slow start doom Foretold on turn four may be the nail in our opponents coffin, because it will set them back at least one turn if not more. If we are in the control match against an empty board liliana is our best friend. Needless to say we have plenty of powerful options and since we don't run any creatures in the main deck, we can actually use our sweepers as spot removal against more powerful late game threats like dream trawler.
The main goal of this deck is to be in complete control of the game at all times by ruining what our opponent is doing until they run out of gas and we finish them with Ugin and crawling barrens. We are going to render several decks that are mainboarding heartless act amongst other spot creature removal obsolete by just not giving them valuable targets effectively stranding several cards in there hand.
The true champion of this deck is Crawling Barrens. We pump it throughout the game with our extra mana and when our opponent is out of gas we drop bombs on them with a land that can turn into a creature.
The sideboard plan is pretty straight forward. If we are playing against ultra aggro; we side in glass casket to replace agonizing remorse and a copy or two of spare supplies, and we replace liliana with murderous rider. If we are playing against rogues, consider the same sideboard as you would against ultra aggro, with the exception of replacing liliana with elspeth for its escape value. If we are playing another control deck or a creatureless deck consider siding out sweepers and replacing them with agonizing remorse, murderous rider, and as many planeswalkers as we can jam. *An edit made to the sideboard made four copies of elspeth conquers death available that should be sided in for sweepers against control deck match-ups*.
