New upgraded MTG Deckbuilders

Aetherhub's deckbuilding tools have recieved numerous upgrades over the last months. An MTG Arena deck builder and advanced searching have been added. In this article, we will showcase the different methods you can use on the site to build your decks, deckbuilding tools and some shortcuts not many people know about.

MTG Arena Deck Builder

First off we have the MTG Arena Deckbuilder which is made to mirror the deckbuilding experience you have in Arena. This builder is available without having to log in to the site. You can build and save your deck, or edit your existing decks by opening them from "My Decks" and clicking on the MTG Arena Deck Builder button. There are several filters available to easily find the cards you want. Only MTGA legal cards can be found in this deck builder. It works the same way as in Arena, where you click a card to add it to your deck, to add more you click the quantity number, removing cards is done by clicking the card name in the decklist. Exporting is quick and easy and if you building a new deck there is also a cool feature where your decklist is saved in your browser so that you can continue building on it later if you close the window. This works without even having an Aetherhub user. The MTGA Deckbuilder can be found under the "DeckHub". Direct link here.

Deck Editor Advanced Search

Now over to the traditional deck Editor, we now have a card search function in addition to the Quick add input. This way you can now browse through the whole library of MTG cards, filtered by sets, colors, rarity, type, text and converted mana cost. The Advanced search in the deck editor is the same found on the site. Clicking a card will add it to the deck, also clicking multiple times will add more to the quantity of the card. So no more browsing with two windows to find the card you want. All can be done inside of the deck editor, using this requires you to log in and create a new deck, then clicking the blue "Advanced Search" button inside of one of your decks.

Editor Improvements

We have also made upgrades to the "Quick Add" input. When you add a new card from this option a + button will show up. Clicking this will add more cards of the last card you added. If you are using a keyboard with a numpad, pressing + on the numpad will do the same!

We have also added the ability to adjust the quantity without clicking the card.

Another neat feature is the ability to move cards into your sideboard. Clicking any card in the deck editor will bring up a modal where you can change card edition, by clicking the "..." button you can now move cards into the sideboard.

Deck Editor Tools

There are several tools to assist in your deck building, we have the traditional starting hand simulator where you can test out how your deck functions. In addition to this, you also have the option to Simulate x starting hands. Want to know how one million starting hands with your deck would look? Click the "Simulate" button and name your number!

A visual display of your starting hand

See how the deck performs over thousands or millions of starting hands. This function uses javascript and your device to calculate, so the speed depends on your device power.

Go even deeper with the hypergeometric distribution calculator, you can use this to calculate a lot of different metrics within your deck.

Always looking for improvements and feedback

We are by no means done and there are always things to improve on all aspects of AetherHub. We have come a long way with the deck builder, but are also looking to adding things like ordering in the builder. We would also love to hear your feedback on the comments.
