Player messages

You will receive an email when voting for one of the players if you wonder how the messages from the ones you did not choose look. Here is all of them:

Thanks a lot for choosing me! Your support really means a lot to me.
I might not be the best, but I will try harder than anyone!
You can find more about me at u/JavierDmagic.
Thanks again and let's win the tournament together!

I really appreciate you believing in me and rallying behind me at Worlds! I'm so excited to battle some of the best players in the world, especially knowing I have a bunch of people rooting for me.
I recognize I'm an underdog in a field this skilled, but I am determined to try my absolute hardest. And I know that regardless of my result there are a lot of people there who will keep believing in me for the rest of the year ahead.

If you want to check out my stream, I'm live at twitch.tv/autumnlilymtg pretty regularly. So come hang out :).
Thanks again,Autumn

If you picked me, you must be a metalhead or a Humans player. Or maybe you want to root for the underdog in a tough field. The rest of the players have more experience at the top levels than I do. Some of them are the players I tried to emulate when I wanted to level up my game. But now I get to represent the average Magic player on the biggest stage the game has to offer.

No matter why you're rooting for me, I appreciate the support.

You can find me on Twitter blackshirtman. I've also done guest appearances on the podcasts Allied Strategies and Let's Remember Some Cards if you want to get to know me better.

Thank you again,Eli Loveman

Hey! Thanks a lot for choosing me =)

I know that the competition is fierce, but I will do my best to take the trophy home. Qualifying for a Mythic Invitational is not easy, but it's possible. My advice to you is to focus on things you can control (e.g., testing, improving your technical skills, be well rested, etc.) and don't put too much attention on things you cannot. Results will arrive sooner rather than later if you manage to implement this approach.

I will be sponsored by Hareruya this season, but you can check my articles there and follow me on Twitter at levunga. I am not fighting only for myself, but for all of the Challengers out there putting a lot of themselves into the game for the opportunity to play against the best in the world. Latin American players have been putting out big results for a long time, even though we don´t have as many opportunities, so your support is really important for me.

Again, thanks for giving me your trust. We will have to wait and see what will happen, but I can assure you that I will be prepared for it.

Greetings Nerd!

Thank you for choosing the wisest of all paths. Let me welcome you to the Serious Magic for Winners Club!

You could have, wrongfully of course, chosen any other of the incredibly fierce and talented competitors. But you chose the best way of playing Magic: wacky, janky, and most of all fun. Unfortunately, I (probably...) can't bring Tron to secure us the easiest of victories, but I am almost 99% sure there is a completely broken deck around Happily Ever After. And let's be honest, now that you have chosen me, who needs all those fancy arena prizes :).

Alright, alright...I will try my hardest to win you as much as possible. After all, we are now one serious Magic for Winners family.

Out of all these amazing Worlds competitors you decided to support me? Wow, thank you! That means a lot.

Being quite new to professional Magic, it's still hard for me to believe that people I have never met enjoy watching me play. I used to be a fan of some of the greatest, and I still am! So if I inspired you in any way, whatever my final result, that's already a win in my book (but don't worry, the actual wins are coming).

In all circumstances, I try to keep an open and sharp mind. In that regard, Magic is both perfect training and an incredible challenge !

If you want to follow me elsewhere or discuss something specific, my DMs are open at JEDepraz on Twitter. I will continue streaming (in French, although not as regularly as last year) as JiRock on Twitch.

Thanks again, and now best of luck to...us, I guess.

Hey everyone, Ondřej here.

Thanks for picking me as your competitor for the World Championship. This past year-and-a-half has been a wild ride. I went from retiring from Magic to making the Magic Pro League, winning a Mythic Championship, and starting a successful stream. I've felt the support of my fans all year, and it made a world of difference. Closing this all out by winning Worlds would be a dream come true. I’ve played on this stage twice before and I failed miserably. But I always feel like we learn the most from our failures. I swear to work harder than I ever did before. Once the event comes, it will be time to fear me.

Once again, thanks for cheering me on. Because you chose me, I feel comfortable sharing with YOU before anyone else that I promise to retire from Magic unless I win this tournament!

Wish me luck!Ondřej Stráský

Thank you for wisely believing in me to go deep in the tournament. This was obviously a reasonable decision as I'm a decently potent Magic: The Gathering player, certainly well suited to claim the World Championship. I'll try my best to make this tournament as close to anime card battles as I can.

If you enjoy watching me perform meticulous and plentiful game actions, be sure to follow me at twitch.tv/kanister_mtg and twitter.com/kanister_mtg.

Hey guys!

I wanted to thank you all for the massive support over the years. I’m really grateful for that! But I have some bad news for all of you who chose me as their competitor: I will likely lose in the finals anyway! 😋 I hope that does not make you change your mind, but if instead you want to help me break this "2nd place curse" there is something you can do for me: Tweet all your cat and dog pictures so I can see your loved ones! #onetimehooman

Hello!

Paulo here, and I want to thank you for choosing me as your representative at Worlds! Winning this title would mean a lot to me— it’s the one title I don’t already have, and it’s the most recognizable for people outside of the game. I promise I’ll try my best to get it.

When we talk about the great players of the game, we often think of them in terms of their peak. We can usually point to a time period in which they were dominant. This usually gets me thinking…when was my peak? Has it already happened, is it happening right now, or is it yet to come?

As I continue playing in tournaments, I strive to show myself that my peak is ahead of me; that I can still learn, improve, and compete at the highest level. The competition gets tougher each year. Players are sharper, younger, and information spreads faster than ever. You choosing me means you believe I still have what it takes to compete with this new generation of Magic players; that I am not someone who peaked in an era long gone, now struggling to keep up.

I very much appreciate the vote of confidence and I hope to prove you right at Worlds!

Paulo Vitor Damo da Rosa

I hope you selected me to win because you have been following me on my journey as a Magic Player for some time, not simply because I am a very good Magic Player. Sure, I would love to win Worlds again (and prove that Javier Dominguez is a mere mortal). Sure, a 300k payday is life changing. Sure, I am going to try to prepare as much as I possibly can. Still, it would be foolish of me to claim I am going to win, because I really don’t know. This is just another Magic tournament in that respect.

Siege Rhino, Blossoming Defense, Goblin Guide, Dark Petition, Panharmonicon, Nightpack Ambusher, Sphinx’s Revelation, Emrakul, the Promised End, and Hazoret the Fervent are just a few of the cards I need to thank. Without you I would not be in the position I am today. These cards provided me titles such as Grand Prix Champion, Pro Tour Champion, and World Champion. Please, please, please don’t fail me now! All I ask is for the cards to continue to be with me.

Without fans, Pro Magic couldn’t exist. Please continue to do what you are doing, and I will show my gratitude in whatever way I can. The best places to follow me are:

While this all may seem a little corny, and it is, that doesn’t mean it isn’t pretty cool. Thank you!!!

Thank you for rooting for me! Whether you love my Legacy VEEDEOS, my stream, or the #Menguccicuisine!

I’ll be carrying three scarves in Honolulu because I have to pick the best for each day, and because the lucky charm cannot be stopped!

2019 was the best year of my life. I had many successes in Magic and I joined Team Channelfireball! But I have even higher hopes for 2020, and Worlds will be a very important first step.

If you want to keep enjoying my content you can check my articles on channelfireball.com, my YouTube videos for Channelfireball and Team CFB, and you can watch my stream in English every day from midnight to 4 AM (Pacific Time Zone). I live and stream from Italy, and love to do so in the morning.

Hey,

Thanks for rooting for me in the upcoming World Championship! Not picking Paulo or Javier was an ambitious move on your end, but I’ll take your vote of confidence! Over this past year, so many members of the Magic community have been unbelievably kind and supportive of my deck choices, play, and attitude towards the game. I feel completely at ease while I’m playing high stakes matches because of the community's support. Your genuine faith in my abilities simply makes me doubt myself less. So since you all have done so much for me, the least I can do is try to help you stock up your Arena account!

I’ll be sharp as a tack during Worlds because of the egregious amount of water and snacks that I’m going to consume. I’ll be so hydrated and satiated that my competitors won’t stand a chance! Some proper nutrition, rest, a whole load of testing, and the support of my friends and the community have been how I’ve done well at previous events. Hopefully Vivien, Arkbow Ranger is well positioned because that card is bananas. Regardless, I’m sure Theros Beyond Death will bring some sweet new cards to Standard and be a blast to play and brew with. Again, thank you for your continued support. It means the world to me.

I plan to start streaming in the near future, but for now, feel free to follow me on Twitter Kavartech and hear me babble on about Magic and nutrition.

Sincerely,Chris Kvartek

Thank you so much for rooting for me!

It's always very special for me to notice that people are happy when I do well in a tournament.

This tournament is super special since my countrymate Matias is also playing, and you are probably rooting for him too. If not, you should! He is great : )

I hope I can put Latin America on the very top!

I'll be playing my 17th Magic World Championships in Hawaii, for most likely the most important tournament of my career. While I've had successes in many other events, including a Team World title, winning an individual World Championship would be a dream come true. Knowing that I have your support helps me believe this is an achievable goal. Thank you so much for that.

I first played Worlds in '97, when most of my competitors had not even heard of the game. A year later, I lost to eventual winner Brian Selden in the semis—the event that kick-started my career as a Pro Player. Since then, I've been one of the most consistent players in the World and people know they should never rule me out when it comes to doing well in a tournament. I've been around for a long time and I plan to stay at the top once I reach it in Hawaii!

If you want to hear more about my stories and/or see me in action, tune in on twitch.tv/raphaellevy or follow me on Twitter @raphlevymtg.

Once again, thank you for your support! Raph

To you and the other brave souls that picked me, I'd like to say a huge thanks. It means a lot, especially given all the other great players you could have chosen.

I've made Top 8 of Worlds three times in my career. Though I've actually never competed in the modern version of the tournament, and I wasn't even sure I'd ever get a chance to play. I could not be more excited and nervous.

Playing for the trophy, the glory, and this much money is going to be completely sick. But knowing you've got so many people watching and rooting from you really takes it to the next level. I hope I'll be able to show up with my A-game and go deep in the tournament. Either way, I'll make sure I try to enjoy the event and the moment.

If things don't go well, I know I've got the 2020 MPL season to look forward to. Of course you'll always be able to find me streaming on twitch.tv/yellowhat.

Thanks again for your support. I'm really stoked you chose me to win it all and I don't want to let you down :).
