Learn more Download For WindowsThis is a very work-in-progress brew, using Magda, Brazen Outlaw and Goldspan Dragon to synergyze with Galazeth Prismari. When it comes to finishers, we have two Magma Opus and a Creative Outburst which, thanks to Galazeth and Magda are pretty easy to cast T5/T6. We can also use Magda's second ability to fetch a Goldspan from our deck, for further ramping, or Terror of Mount Velus or Embercleave as a finisher, capitalizing on our flying beaters and giving them double strike.
Frost Bite offers some nice removal, and Prismari Command is incredibly flexible, dealing with small creatures and fetching, or generating a treasure for later use w/ either Galazeth or Goldspan. Then there's the izzet tempo counterspell package, for better control. Thanks to Galazeth, we don't have to lose our treasures, so Goldspan generates even more advantage than before.
Mystic Sanctuary is great to let us recover a Magma Opus or Creative Outburst that was discarded to generate treasure. We only run the one to minimize the chances of getting screwed by a lack of islands. That's also the reason we run Fabled Passages over the new dual land (though that could replace the Pathway, I think). I think we could put two, maybe - more testing is needed.
Sideboard: We run two Draconic Interventions to control the board better - their exile effect gets around death triggers which are pretty relevant for both Witherbloom and Silverquill, as well as any Lurrus list. Redcap Melee is great removal vs monoG lists - the only thing it doesn't hit is Lovestruck Beast - and thanks to our treasure generation, the land sac is mitigated. Soul-Guide Lantern is our graveyard hate. Ox of Agonas lets us counter rogue mill decks, and Mystical Dispute helps vs them as well.
When it comes to mulligans, we really want Magda. Not enough to mull to 5 or lower, but enough to go to 6 pretty consistently. Dropping her on T2 is very important, as she lets us cast Galazeth T3 and Goldspan T4, putting us one turn ahead as far as tempo is concerned.
Star/Jenny player that tries to brew new stuff with weird cards! Plays far too much Izzet for her own good.
