Description

It's a Domain deck with a WUBRG twist. If you like Domain but want to try something different, and enjoy watching your opponents scoop in despair, this is the deck for you!  The 73 card count may seem wacky, but it actually works.

I've been wondering how to exploit Sunbird Standard // Sunbird Effigyimage for a while. With 12 WUBRG cards in the deck, it becomes pretty easy. It's not the best card in the deck though, but it's my favorite. Having a standard 3-drop mana rock become in the next turn a flying vigilance haste 5/5 that gives you 5 mana is pretty great.  The ramp is off the charts, with plenty to exploit it.

How does this deck make people scoop? 4 Sunfallimage and 4 Ill-Timed Explosionimage may be the obvious answer, but often it's just the crazy lifegain from casting 5 colored cards giving 5 life for every Ancient Cornucopiaimage.  For example, casting Niv-Mizzet, Supremeimage (my second favorite card in the deck), which is hexproof from mono-colored spells, getting 10 life from 2 Cornucopia, and your opponent seeing you can now cast all the 2 colored spells in your graveyard, is pretty deflating.

Another extremely deflating combo: if you have 6 lands, 2 Cornucopia on the table, cast Doppelgangimage on the 2 Cornucopia (but save the lifegain for the next spell), then cast either Omnath, Locus of Allimage or Leyline of the Guildpactimage (4 mana 5 color spells for your 4 new Cornucopias), and you'll gain 30 life.

Doppelgangimage is one of the 2 color spells in the deck, with all the mana in this deck it can really pop off. It's easy to turn defeat into victory with it if your opponent has a good board presence, if you copy 3 of their things you make triple copies of each of them, and chances are you now have a superior board state to theirs in a turn. Another thing that will often make a scoop. I usually like to copy at least one of my Cornucopia though for the insane lifegain described above.

Worldsoul's Rageimage is another 2 color spell recastable by Niv-Mizzet. It doubles as both removal of any target, plus ramp by bringing back all your sac-lands.

The final 2 color is Ill-Timed Explosionimage.  Getting card draw with optional board wipe?  Great.

Artist's Talentimage is a subtle player, but often clutch. The ramp from the cost reduction is nice. Turn 2-3-4 Talent, level up, then double 3-mana rocks, is quite nice. Then you can cast Atraxa turn 5. Plus the loot effect can be great. There's a subtle trick with Ill-Timed explosion and this card though, if you get Talent up to level 3, the bonus 2 damage only applies to the opponent's creatures, giving you good one-sided board wipe options.

There's a lot of mana fixing and ramp in this deck between all the sac-lands, Herd Migrationimage, Leyline of the Guildpactimage, and the 8 mana rocks.

Herd Migrationimage is another frequent cause of scoops with this deck, especially after wiping the board. Doing both in one turn isn't hard with all the ramp.

Atraxa, Grand Unifierimage goes perfect with this deck, 4 life per Cornupia, plus all the cards it grabs, can definitely be clutch.

Loot, the Key to Everythingimage is a bit goofy but it's only one-of. The 3 life per Cornucopia plus chump blocker or the card draws from his exiles has made him clutch to me many times though.

Nissa, Resurgent Animistimage is guaranteed to find Omnath, Locus of Allimage with any sac-land, plus the classic combo with Worldsoul. Just the lifegain and blocker from Omnath is great, but he also gives you an extra card every turn, lets you carry over mana from turn to turn, plus occasional 3 bonus mana burst.

Leyline Bindingimage is an obvious addition to any Domain deck. Pro-tip, Dopplegang copying this makes a very nice bonus removal as well.

The lands are typical, note that with Leyline of the Guildpactimage you can tap sac lands for any color without sacrificing. Forests are the most common since most ramp relies on it, red after for the loot effect from Artist's Talentimage. If you're really desperate you can cast the 2 mana X spells for zero just to loot a land.

Anyways, hope you have fun with this deck, it's been a breath of fresh air for me. Unfortunately I've been seeing a lot more Screaming Nemesis, but at least you can avoid the lifegain block with Sunfall or Leyline Binding.
