Add at least 100 different cards to your collection and set it as your Compare Collection on the manage page to see what cards from this deck you are missing.
Compare your MTG Arena Collection with AetherHub decklists or any other decks found on the web with the MTGA Assistant extension. Syncing your account will automatically upload your collection so you can see what cards you are missing right here.
Learn more Download For WindowsI've been working on building a control deck that is not Esper Control. I've been testing this in MTGA in BO1 and BO3. In BO1, any kind of RDW or White Weenie and you pretty much lose unless the draws are in your favor. Other than that, it holds up well against other control and midrange decks. Growth Spiral and Treasure Map // Treasure Cove allow you to cycle your lands and other things that you don't need to get at your more important cards. Plus, the draw from the Treasure Map // Treasure Cove is extremely useful and gives you more mana to cast things like Frilled Mystic. Hydroid Krasis is here to allow more draw and life gain in the late game after you've been controlling the match and allow it to be a finisher of sorts. In BO3, I've been able to beat Nexus of Fate decks and others, as Thief of Sanity can net amazing value by taking the win condition right out of the deck and allowing you to use it. Other things like Hostage Taker and Ravenous Chupacabra give you the obvious creature removal along with Vraska's Contempt.
The Vraska, Relic Seeker is in my opinion, the only viable Planeswalker that could be used here as the other Planeswalkers for the colors used don't really fit the strategy of the deck. Also, the -3 ability can be used to remove things like Wilderness Reclamation and other pesky things and allow the treasure token to work off of Treasure Map // Treasure Cove netting more advantage. The rest of the sideboard is used to combat the weenie and aggro decks and to add some more early control against Esper and others.
While this may not be an optimal list, I think it is a good starting point and there is certainly room for some tweaking if need be.
