Description

Once again, many of the oddities regarding what cards are or are not included or in what number are due to my currently limited collection.  Ideally all Nest Robbers would be replaced by additional copies of the Robber of the Rich, Immortal Pheonix and Goblin Trashmaster would be replaced by additional 2x Embercleaves. And either the Siege Dragon's and/or Scorching Dragon Fire would be switched out for Storm's Rath or another broad removal spell.  But as it stands this deck plays well and is fairly consistent.

It works a little on subverting the current meta for mono-red, as when there isn't an immeadiete 1 drop on turn 1 people tend to feel comfortable slow playing possibly assuming it's a Traitorous Greed/Claim the First Born deck.  For the most part your going to be looking to start your offence turn 2/3, if you have Chandra's Pyreling in your opening hand and at least 1 Shock, the better playline generaly will have you casting the Pyreling on turn 2, and dropping your Nest Robber/Robber of the Rich on turn 3, using the additional mana to cast Shock and take advantage of the Pyrelings abilities.  Otherwise mainly your looking to stack your damage bonus, go wide and overwhelm you opponents ability to defend/gain life.  Some notes, even though the meta surrounding Mono-red favors haste so much, in this deck it is often better to play your none haste based creatures (especially Torbane, Anax, and specifically the Ogre Battledriver) as priority.  A single Ogre Battledriver can turn a Goblin Gathering from a measely 2 damage (or 4 if you using Raid Bombardment) on the next turn, into an immeadiete 6, and if Torbane is also on field that turns into 10 points of damage. Use Annax to mitigate how disruptive removal's are,
The deck's biggest strength lies in lulling your opponent into believing they are safe for at least 1 more turn, many of the cards either greatly increase the damage potential and can turn what appeared to be a safe board state for your opponent into a board state that is anything but.
