OK! So there are a lot of Gyruda decks getting around at the moment, but I wanted to do something without the restrictions placed upon us by making him our companion. As a result we can utilise Winota, Joiner of Forces
to help get out Agent of Treachery
along with Charming Prince
(which Gyruda can already cast for us by having an even CMC). I've thrown in Nyxbloom Ancient
just in case we can get it out to help clear our hands easier, but most of the time he gets thrown away so that is something you could probably consider replacing. Fiend Artisan
is an after thought, and could probably be either replaced or have more added in to pose a bigger threat. Having all the creatures in our graveyard can make this quite strong. Finally Luminous Broodmoth
helps resurrect our creatures, re-triggering Gyruda, Doom of Depths
, Agent of Treachery, Charming Prince, Elite Guardmage
and Spark Double
and then give them all Flying for that extra slap in the face! This deck is really fun when it works, but if you have to chase those Gyrudas it just doesn't work (the downside of not having him as a companion).
