Description

Finally, we can play a solid mono-green midrange deck that gets us to mythic. Now that we have Heroic Interventionimage and image, we can interact with the biggest threats to mono-green: board wipes, removal, and graveyard synergies. The biggest hurdle to our strategy is holding up mana. This is where two key ingredients come into play: Nissa, Who Shakes the Worldimage and Llanowar Visionaryimage. Llanowar Visionary is extremely versatile. He replaces himself, which is critical for card advantage. We can hold up mana for Barkhide Trollimage, the Scooze, and Heroic Intervention. We want to eat most his his graveyard at the beginning of the opponent endstep. We can also swing in for chip damage or chump block. I am ALWAYS happy to play this little due. Nissa was always a solid card, but we lacked interaction. Now that we have some mana sinks and counterplay, it's great to hold up that extra mana.

Key Matchups:

Bant Ramp: Heavily favored. Scooze eats up the graveyard and presents an early threat. We survive board wipes due to Nissa and Vivien, Monster's Advocate and Heroic Intervention. T3feri is a mild threat, but we are happy when he bounces Llanowar Visionary, as we get another free card draw. Our lands survive Ugin, the Spirit DragonimagePrimal Mightimage pumps a create and allows us to swing in against Nissa. Ensure to sideboard in [Vivien, Champion of the Wilds]] and 3x Sorcerous Spyglassimage to allow yourself to cast on his turn and shut down the planewalkers.

Rakdos Sac: Unfavored. A tough matchup. The key threat is Claim the Firstbornimage. I sideboard in Sorcerous Spyglass x3 to shut down his sac outlets: Priest of the Forgotten God, Witch's Ovenimage, and Woe Striderimage, depending on what is in hand. Also, I slide in Ranger's Guileimage for protection.

Sultai Ramp: Favored. We survive due to having resilient planewalkers. We are threatened by extinction event, so I side in an addtional Elder Gargarothimage. Wins come easy when you eat up [Uro, Titan of Nature's Wrath]]. Heroic Intervention makes the money here, since there is no T3feri.

Aggro: Neutral. We can usually win once we play our five-drops. I side in Sporeweb Weaverimage against RDW. Also, an additional Primal Might helps clear up the board.
