Learn more Download For WindowsBEHOLD, my Golgari Aristocrats deck with Slimefoot, the Stowaway at the helm.
There are lots of synergies and mini-combos in the deck, but here's the one that goes infinite:
Get Doubling Season and Ashnod's Altar in play. Paying 4 mana to Slimefoot's activated ability, you get 2 Saproling tokens. Sacrifice them both to the altar, you get 4 colorless mana and 2 drain triggers. Using that 4 colorless mana you can make another 2 tokens, sacc them for more mana and drain triggers, and you can do this infinitely. Well, not INFINITE, because your opponents die first.
Harder combo to pull off: Life and Limb + Sporemound. The enchantment makes it so that Forests and Saprolings are the same thing, and the creature gives you a Saproling whenever a forest comes into play. You have both in play and you play a forest: this triggers Sporemound, creating 1 Saproling token. The Saproling token entering the battlefield is also a Forest, triggering Sporemound again and then again...creating infinite Saproling tokens. Stop the loop with a sacrifice outlet and you've got yourself a limitless army of 1/1s. You could just swing with them all the next turn, or use them as fodder for the Ashnod's Altar Slimefoot, the Stowaway combo. I'm considering putting Pattern of Rebirth in the deck since the UMA reprint has put the price way down, which would allow the deck to fetch Sporemound. The only current way to fetch it would be using the -1 flip on Garruk Relentless // Garruk, the Veil-Cursed.
Sylvan Scrying doesn't have a lot of choices, but it's still really useful. When casting it you're either getting Westvale Abbey // Ormendahl, Profane Prince or Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth. This deck has a small amount of black mana synergy because I think it's neat. Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth + Magus of the Coffers + Nirkana Revenant is a great way to chuck out a lot of black mana, either for making Saproling tokens or getting out a lot of combo pieces when your opponents' shields are down.
Now, for the degenerate: Grafted Exoskeleton is in here to give Slimefoot infect. Because he reads "Whenever a Saproling you control dies, Slimefoot, the Stowaway deals 1 damage to each opponent and you gain 1 life" he deals the damage. This doesn't mean he deals Commander Damage, but if he has infect, his drains will give poison counters instead of dealing damage. Considering Tainted Strike to allow for a one-time explosive turn, which is really what infect needs.
Honorable (spicy) mentions: Temur Sabertooth is a great way to protect Slimefoot from board wipes, bouncing him to your hand as long as you have 2 mana up. Pitiless Plunderer turns your Aristocrat drains into Treasures. Necrogenesis is graveyard hate against opposing Reanimator decks. Yawgmoth's Vile Offering is great single target removal that can also let you steal an opponent's dead planeswalker.
