Okay so this deck is my take on death and taxes, with a human subtheme. Ideal openers have some way of gaining hand information on turn one using Slayer's Bounty
or discard spells, then following up with some way to gain advantage over your opponents plays over the next few turns with Curse of Silence
Silverquill Silencer
and even Esper Sentinel
. This is really powerful because it enables you to know whether to take an agressive line and play your creatures, or plan for how to protect against controlling decks.
Glint-Sleeve Siphoner
provides more card advantage, and Slayer's Bounty paired with Lurrus and Thraben Inspector
is really powerfull. Slayer's Bounty's spell book is far more relevant than you might think. Being able to deal with way more threats than i thought or even providing you with threats on occasion if thats what you need all while drawing you an additional card as well.
Thalia's Lieutenant
and a one of Sigardian Evangel
(which is absurd with lurrus in the late game) help the deck close out the game. Overall it is a really fun deck that gives you a lot of answers and controlling elements, while still allowing you to get some good ol' fashioned attacking and blocking in as well.
