Strong flying beasts ready to bring hailfire upon your enemy! This description will bring you a small introduction the deck.
The goal is to survive the early game and keep playing mighty Dragons in mid game. So to keep the enemy from ramping up or aggro in on us, with pesky little worms, we have Shock and Severed Strands at our disposal. The reason I use Severed Strands is because it combos very nicely with Dragon Egg. You get a flying 2/2 Dragon token by sacrifcing the Dragon Egg for Severed Strands extra cost and to top it of we can destroy an opponents creature. If it so happens and we dont have a Dragon Egg to sacrifice for Severed Strands, we then can sacrifice a creature like Demanding Dragon and bring it back with Memorial to Folly. This Demanding Dragons aility can be used again. There is also Field of Ruin that helps us out if the opponent has a nasty land that needs to be removed but it can also be used to let us search for a basic land in case we need a Swamp for Darigaaz Reincarnated by destryoing an opponents non-basic land.
Using these tools we can survive and ramp with Sarkhan, Fireblood and Dragon's Hoard. Sarkhan, Fireblood also helps us cycle through our deck to get strong Dragons and Dragon's Hoard will enable us to keep drawing cards so we ensure an unlimited creature supply. Verix Bladewing and Lathliss, Dragon Queen help a lot to ramp up counters for the Dragon's Hoard by creating powerful token.
Another creature that helps us surpressing the opponent in the early to midgame is Demanding Dragon. The opponent has to make a harsh decision by either sacrificing 5 life points or a creature, either way its a win-win situtation for us.
The big hitter in our deck is not only Lathliss, Dragon Queen but also Darigaaz Reincarnated. He is hard to remove permanently while also having trample and haste by getting buffed up from Lathliss, Dragon Queen ensures that we allmost always have the stronger creature on board to finish off our opponent. Speaking about finishing off the opponent. Volcanic Dragon wants to chime in! He isnt the strongest of the pack but he certainly is one of the fastest! Because he has haste. You know? Fast, Haste? Yeah I probably better just dont.
As much power as the deck has it comes with a few weaknesses. Like most midrange decks its hard to play against control because we are relatively slow and the control players have time to set up their defenses and mana base. On the other hand most aggro decks are definitely beatable especially if you swap out cards between games. Adding in Golden Demise or Fiery Cannonade for Severed Strands can easily deal with the small creatures while leaving our strong Dragons in tact. To have something ready for control we can use cards like Duress or Banefire. The last three sideboard cards are open for your taste but I usually want more removals, something that exile creatures so its either Lava Coil or Vraska's Contempt.
While the deck is probably not the strongest deck ever created, it is a lot of fun! I hope you enjoy the power of the mightiest creatures Magic has to offer as much as I do and give this deck a shot. Sadly dragon decks are never cheap and in Arena thats not different to paper Magic. So save up your wildcards, summon your Wishcoin Crab and bring destruction to your opponent!
