This updated version brings with it alot of War of The Spark, Needle Spires
, and Clifftop Retreat
. The main difference is creature count decreased which is still fine because you could Rally the Ancestors
to bring them back using the ways described in the orignal. Remember the deck itself is still meant to be played like described in the original article.
For clear reasons the planeswalkers are here. They make your creatures that much more better. First Strike - No death to me. Menace - Definitely not dieing today. Haste - Eager to jump in the fight?? I have added a second copy of Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx
which should help us ramp a little more since now we are closer to equal Red and White devotation. I hope the extra copy actually helps us draw it more often, but if it doesn't it could always be sideboarded out. I saw this not to say it didn't help before , but now because we're depending ont he extra mana a little more with all of the walkers mainboard being 4 drops. Clifftop Retreat was added because it an tap for both of colors and not hurt us. Needle Spires was added because it can tap for both of our colors, and as a added bonus it turns into a double striking 2/1 token for a turn. How awesome is that?? Karn's Bastion

and Samut, Tyrant Smasher
, but would also benefit you games 2 & 3 if you sided in The Wanderer
, or Saheeli, Sublime Artificer
. We only care about the static abilitiy of Angrath, Captain of Chaos
, but you could have a 4/4 from him if you minus twice. That 4/4 will grow when you use Karn's Bastion. The other planeswalkers in the sideboard are their for specific matchups where you need to get rid of hexproof creatures, or are going against a life gain deck. Blast Zone
helps us in case you encounter some particularlly annoying permanent your opponent has that we can't counterspell.
