Top Standard Decks - September 2024

Duskmourn is in spoiler season right now, and Bloomburrow is one month in. What has changed? Well, nothing much, really. As we mentioned three weeks earlier, the adjustments were rather quick given Standard's rotation pushing cards out of the format. All that is technically left, is the usual switcheroos that we commonly see for most of the color combinations that already found their way to the top 8.

The hype for using the new cards in a new rotation has also died down for a bit, making way for the regular players to come back and sit comfortably in their original seats.

Standard Tournament Meta - Top 8 Decks

In a weird deja vu situation from a year ago, Gruul Aggro makes its way back at the top place. The caveat? Well, this isn't anything related to any dedicated typal whatsoever. It's just the typical ol' Gruul Aggro with the combat. Rakdos Aggro becomes a technical mainstay, balancing out at 6.55% of the meta. Boros Tokens (Convoke) is also now technically Jeskai, with the addition of a few cheap Blue spells, and sits nicely at 6th place (5.36% of the meta).

Domain is back! The deck has been gone for about a few weeks since the release of Bloomburrow, mostly due to the hype of the new post-rotation format. But now that things have settled down, it has returned at a very stable 4th place (3.76% of the meta). Rakdos, in the same vein, dropped all the way to 7th place (3.23% of the meta). But honestly, at Bo3, the margins are not really that high enough to completely say that any of the dominated. Oh and, that Boros deck looks a loooot more different than what I recently remember...

Standard MTG Arena: Best of One - Top 8 Decks

Yep, "Rakdos" (Mono-Red + Sellsword) is indeed rackin', keeping the top spot for this month at 8.44% of the meta. The rest of the red-flavored variants follow, with the second Mono Red and Boros at 6.99% and 5.24% of the meta, respectively. Curiously enough, Mono Black gets four entries! Well, only two actually made it to the top 8 (7th and 8th place), with the other half at 9th and 10th place.
