The Mythic Rare Podcast - Ep 6 - Recapping all the Story Lines from Mythic Championship V

This week on The Mythic Rare Podcast, The Icon Willy B and myself break down all the story lines you may have missed from Mythic Championship V this last weekend. We go into detail about how improbable Javier Dominguez's tournament run was, break down the success of other strategies, and give you advice for the meta game moving forward. Additionally, we also talk the Czech vs the American drama that came out of the tournament, how rediculous it is that there were game crashes during the tournament, and talk about how Wizards handled Hong Kong demonstrations different from Hearthstone. I also have some rare consumer advice at the end! This was probably one of our best podcasts yet, so definetly check it out!

Another topic we covered was the banning of Field of the Dead. We recorded before the card was actually banned from Arena, but it will be very interesting to see how the meta changes. Already, I have seen far less of the deck and much more Gruul and Mono Red. Gruul is almost certainly seeing action because of Javier's tournament, but will it actually be good after Field is gone? Will a new spicy brew come out of nowhere? Will Esper Stax or Simic Flash start seeing significantly more play? Its going to be very exciting for the first few days after the official Arena Banning to see!

Also, Aetherhub is having a free to enter Brawl Tournament with 10,000 gems on the line this weekend! You can sign up here:

I am looking forward to seeing what decks everyone in the Aetherhub Community comes up with and the winners deck will get featured on the Podcast next week!

We will also be going to Richmond for Magicfest and Mythic Championship V, so stay tuned for updates about that!

About the Hosts

The Aetherhub Podcast is hosted by Graham Pollard and The Icon Willy B. Graham got into Magic at his summer camp when he was seven and has been playing on and off ever since. Within the last year, however, he has started taking the game much more seriously after getting into MTG Arena. Will is a newer player to the game, who came to Arena after being extremely passionate about E-sports in general, and immediately fell in love with it. The hosts previously ran a regional radio show in Asheville NC, which focused more on sports, pop culture and general trending topics. In addition to Magic, both hosts love Football, college sports and being outdoors. Will is a big anime fan, and Graham enjoys any movie with Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise. Both hosts are super excited in the direction that Magic is heading, and are ecstatic to be a part of Aetherhub and the gaming community as a whole.

Make sure to follow our Twitter account to stay up to date on everything the Podcast is doing! @MythicRarePod

Coming up next week, we will have more special guests on the program, including someone who may or may not have been on the official broadcast!!

Its a great way to close out games. Still deciding if its mainboard worthy or not but it can feel insanely powerful retrieving it with Karn

Nice! Wish claw is an awesome addition, especially with Karn on the board.
