March of the Machine First Look Unveils the Multiversal War
Regardless of the drama happening at the adminstrative and financial side of Hasbro, WoTC still maintains its edge when building up hype for upcoming sets. In its latest First Look of March of the Machine, a few tantalizing cards were finally revealed, giving a sneak peek at what's to come for the entire fate of the Multiverse.
Jin-Gitaxias / The Great Synthesis
Interesting play mechanic that reverses what we are typically used to. And for the grindy meta the game has been fostering as of late, it feels like control decks finally have their first heavy multi-synergistic threat after a long time.
Chandra, Hope's Beacon
Chandra has already been hyped in March of the Machine via preview artworks for quite a while. But now that her effect is completely revealed, it does seem like she's about to represent the name of her card perfectly. Bonus flavor for her "rallying" effects to bring everyone on board (pun intended).
Heliod, the Radiant Dawn / Heliod, the Warped Eclipse
If anybody was ever wondering before if Theros gods can be compleated, well... here's your answer plus the method. Not 'indestructible' after all, eh.
Omnath, Locus of All
Looks like Omnath didn't just eventually absorb all standard mana colors, but even adapted Phyrexian mana!
Moment of Truth
Not exactly hyping its effect, but rather the implications depicted by the art and flavor text. Looking forward to Elspeth's ultimate fate very soon.
Team-Up Legendary Cards
Legendary cards that feature two prominent characters of various Multiversal planes will be a big theme for this set. Everybody on almost every plane fighting together against the all-out Phyrexian invasion. Which one would be your favorite? What other potential character pairs shall we see?
Towashi (New Plane Cards)
True to the theme of this set, plane cards are returning! Not much revealed yet ecxept for one new plane at this moment (the other two spoiled are reprints), so we'll just have to speculate for a while what the other newer planes would represent in-game.
The Kenriths' Royal Funeral
As a sneak preview for March of the Machine: Aftermath, we are given a somber spoiler for this card. Intepret it what you will, because it definitely won't be the last reminder of this set's consequences for both the game and the story.
(The Invasion of Alara)
The Phyrexian Invasion of the Multiverse Officially Begins
