Edit 3: 4:06 PM EST - Stil down, however some users have reported that the following method worked. Thanks to Quexalblaze#39552 on the official forums:

"Everyone Pay attention! I will detail how to do this as I have gotten in and it worked!
1. Go to google and download WindScribe. Get the one for your computer or OS.
2. Download and run it
3. It will port you to the website again to make an account. This takes almost no time
4. Now that you are signed in and running, choose a westcoast server (if in USA) specifically Los Angeles Dogg
5. Run the game and you will be in. Then turn the vpn off. You will be good to go. This literally takes 5 minutes!!...
"

Edit2: 3:45 PM EST - Still down
Edit1: 2:46 PM EST - Still down

As of 2:29 PM EST Magic the Gathering Arena is down for maintenance.

July 2nd is here and you've been opening and re-opening the MTGA client like a Barbarian Lunaticimage in need of your next digital cardboard fix.

...

"System is down for maintenance."

...

You close the client. Pause for a minute. And reload it.

We apologize for any inconvenience, and will update you with more information when it becomes available."

Aside from Twitter, to check the current status of the MTGA client, you can go through the official site.
