Edit 3: 4:06 PM EST - Stil down, however some users have reported that the following method worked. Thanks to Quexalblaze#39552 on the official forums:

"Everyone Pay attention! I will detail how to do this as I have gotten in and it worked!
1. Go to google and download WindScribe. Get the one for your computer or OS.
2. Download and run it
3. It will port you to the website again to make an account. This takes almost no time
4. Now that you are signed in and running, choose a westcoast server (if in USA) specifically Los Angeles Dogg
5. Run the game and you will be in. Then turn the vpn off. You will be good to go. This literally takes 5 minutes!!...

Edit2: 3:45 PM EST - Still down
Edit1: 2:46 PM EST - Still down

As of 2:29 PM EST Magic the Gathering Arena is down for maintenance.

July 2nd is here and you've been opening and re-opening the MTGA client like a [[Barbarian Lunatic]] in need of your next digital cardboard fix.

"System is down for maintenance."

You close the client. Pause for a minute. And reload it.

You're not alone! Per @MTG_Arena on twitter at 12:55 PM EST,

"We are currently investigating reports of degraded performance impacting Magic: The Gathering Arena. Players may experience issues with updating to the latest client and/or loggin in at this time.

We apologize for any inconvenience, and will update you with more information when it becomes available."

Aside from Twitter, to check the current status of the MTGA client, you can go through the official site.

As of 2:29 PM EST, I still haven't gotten in. Until then, continue to reload like a [[Inhumaniac]].

About CaptainJamoke

Information relevant to readers regarding most my decks:

Since MTGA ranked seasons began I’ve hit mythic ranking consistently, often early into the month. All of my deck posts involving write-ups involve significant gameplay in ranked Bo1 and/or ranked Bo3. I tend to switch up the game mode depending on how much time I have to play MTGA, meaning that my decks are designed to work as listed in both Bo3 and Bo1 with zero changes to the main board. Currently, MTGA has 50-deck limit which can inhibit deck cloning if you are working in multiple decks at once   **Note -Since both formats have different metas, these decks can be modified for optimization if you stick with one format only. This doesn’t apply to decks posted for any tournament entries.**

My deck building process:

I will take a concept and put together an initial list. The deck is then played solely in ranked regardless of my current rank. I play until I lose a few and then modify the list to remove its weakest cards. I then repeat that process until I get bored with the deck. This process has gotten me to mythic every season except for one- I really tried to make bridgemaster affinity work but couldn’t figure out the right list. I ended up stuck in limbo between plat/diamond for the whole season. The most recent “core” deck concept we hit mythic was last season with GB Rock on 5/11/19.

I occasionally stream on Twitch and recently started trying to figure out YouTube- you can find me by searching “captainjamoke” on either. I’m also always hanging out in the Aetherhub discord if you want to discuss the deck lists.
